2.I don't think he should be allowed in the discussion. But really it seems that if you talk with a lot of atheists their underlying problem with faith isn't about the bible or even certain practices of religions, its really with God. They do not accept their helplessness in life, they think they have control even though they really don't. No human has control, the things we do "control" tend towards disaster. Its God who can bring life from death, not humanity.
I think the biggest example of what you are talking about (Atheist Cult Leaders) in my opinion is Christopher Hitchens. I haven't read a book by him but just about every debate I've watched with him I have felt that he has offered nothing more than a source of hatred for any faith. He has yet to offer any objective information to even challenge the notion of a God. I think any intelligent person can see this, but for some reason he is thought of as a top atheist.

@GoodSamaritean4life It needs to be said that animals were not created as herbivores. That is an assumption based on the Genesis account and bears no resemblance to how herbivores and omnivores developed their diets over time throught the natural process.
I can't speak for Zomby, but I DO understand the belief that herbivores were created and that all animals were once herbivores. I just reject the claim due to overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
@GoodSamaritean4life as an atheist, my courtesy towards believers is based on a presumption that they don't think my lack of belief makes me a bad person, or that i am crazy. i extend the same in return, i don't think people who believe in God are mental just cos they believe, and i am content to judge people on the content of their character, regardless differences of viewpoint.

2.I don't think he should be allowed in the discussion. But really it seems that if you talk with a lot of atheists their underlying problem with faith isn't about the bible or even certain practices of religions, its really with God. They do not accept their helplessness in life, they think they have control even though they really don't. No human has control, the things we do "control" tend towards disaster. Its God who can bring life from death, not humanity.

I think the biggest example of what you are talking about (Atheist Cult Leaders) in my opinion is Christopher Hitchens. I haven't read a book by him but just about every debate I've watched with him I have felt that he has offered nothing more than a source of hatred for any faith. He has yet to offer any objective information to even challenge the notion of a God. I think any intelligent person can see this, but for some reason he is thought of as a top atheist.

well mate, to the likes of atheists such as myself, quoting the bible, in or out of context, is pointless. there is no justifiable reason to take that scripture as being any more legitimate as divinely inspired than the Koran, the Book of Mormon, the hindu Vedas, or any other holy books which make the claim.
can you give me one good reason to take the bible more seriously than, say, the Mahabarata?

atheists already believe the bible is wrong as a starting supposition, so they don't bother to study the bible to see if they are wrong. That's why we see these stupid videos by TF and other atheists because all that matters to them is to mock and deconvert others. They don't care about the arguments, they already made their mind. It is just as the bible says: they are mad.

I don't need to explain what they believe regarding those subjects, because I do not represent them and those are not attributes that are inherent to a typical atheist. Those positions aren't anyone's except Thunderfoot's and Zomby's.

And I am not basing my analysis on a single video, I am basing my analysis on the long track record of lies that comes from big atheists here on YT. Brett Keane, Thunderfoot, TheAmazingAtheist, Zombie Criss, Coughlan666. Those are the people who lied over and over again to push their belief.

@GoodSamaritean4life I'm only familiar with the Amazing Atheist and a bit of Coughlin666. They speak what they observe through their own point of view. The belief and how they express the rationale behind the belief is quite straightforward, actually.
If we are going to assign "cult leader" to anyone who gets attention, then we should probably start with the notorious J-man, who commands that his followers go out and secure more viewers.

Thunderfoot thinks that God is a volcano , or he doesn't understand the meaning of "good Sheppard" and Zombie Criss doesn't understand that animals were created herbivores. And I can go on and on about their lies and deceptions. They are lying on purpose to deceive others, just like any other cult leader.

@GoodSamaritean4life It needs to be said that animals were not created as herbivores. That is an assumption based on the Genesis account and bears no resemblance to how herbivores and omnivores developed their diets over time throught the natural process.
I can't speak for Zomby, but I DO understand the belief that herbivores were created and that all animals were once herbivores. I just reject the claim due to overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

@GoodSamaritean4life as an atheist, my courtesy towards believers is based on a presumption that they don't think my lack of belief makes me a bad person, or that i am crazy. i extend the same in return, i don't think people who believe in God are mental just cos they believe, and i am content to judge people on the content of their character, regardless differences of viewpoint.
IMO God is in no book, nor a church. God exists in the hearts and minds of believers, and nowhere else.

@AmericanWayne That strange, when I watched the video all I saw was you mostly repeatedly how some atheists are intellectually dishonest, ignorant or stupid and a few brief text messages, while not presenting any real intellectual argument yourself.
Everyone takes biblical texts out of contexts, include yourself, simply because the bible is not an argument in itself but a series of passages open to interpretation.

@AmericanWayne The video addresses to some degree the effects of religion, but it hard touches on the validity of religion itself. While some atheists might make inaccurate statements, the only issue that pertains to atheism as a position is belief (or lack thereof) in a god.

I just find the question "How about explaining why atheists are wrong" as hypocritical. He has from his point of view. You think theists are wrong and no doubt have examples of what you call proof but many would not see it as proof. Proof is often in the eye of th beholder. Like it or not.

i think a big portion of the atheist community love to just watch someone be belligerent in there criticism of god. people like to watch someone just be a total dick, or just make fun of Christians. i like it a little if it's done with a smart tone. i think you are wrong when it comes to zomygoditschris. i think she is smart, sometimes funny, but has great things to say. i am a sub of thunderfoot but am not a big fan.
