  • That snare is totaly sage francis.

  • what does that even mean? sage francis raps over snares that sound just like that one? well guess what, so does the rest of hip hop, it's called a drum break.

    MPC rules

  • cool calm pete flipped that sample hard for his album but urs is dope too

  • Whats that spanish-themed sample called? I don't think it is called "South of the border" because I just searched that song and it wasn't it. I've been looking for that song forever!

  • I could be wrong but that sounds like wars song "all day music" to me.

  • The song is called "Crystal Blue Persuasion" by Tommy James and the Shondelles

  • sorry, sheek alreadt murdered a beat using that sample. dont u hate it when that happens? good vid tho. keep it up

  • All good, Cypress Hill used Manzell drums etc. in 94 - I'm sure most everything I used has been sampled elsewhere too.

  • Man, listen to Guru: Rap is an art you can't own no loops

It's how you hook em up and the rhyme style troop!

That says it all, no offence!

  • what camera you used, its nice and clear ;)

  • Panasonic/Lumix DMC-FX01 (6MP photo camera, also does 848x480 video at 30 fps.)

  • oh shit i just made a remix with that same song.. just a diff part of the sample.. mos def also used that song with a diff cut on "ms. fatbooty"

  • ayatollah made the ms. fat booty beat...

  • how long u been djing and making mpc beats?

  • the drums are on the manzel album entitled midnight theme. forget the song title.

  • The song is called Midnight Theme, innit?

  • ain its a phrase from DE-PHAZZ?

I heard exactly the same phrase startin' from 02:14 in ur video on the official website of DE-PHAZZ...anyway..good chilling out beat, i love it

  • I forget actually where I found that one - Random oldies a friend had brought over. I know of De-Phazz, would be a pretty random coincidence if they'd used the same.

  • anyway~ nice work man~! ur username right here is scottchiller.. u also like chillout music~?im just lovin it~ btw is that if i get one mpc2500, a computer , a pair of speakers n some softwares then I can play some sampling already~? im totally new to digital audio stuff just want get started..~ thz for answering..! regards SunnyL
  • You can get an MPC (expensive), or software on a computer and then connect an MPC-style "trigger pad" which is like the MPC pads but with a USB connector.

  • thz for answering

i know the price of mpc already

    thats alrighty for me

just wanna play some cool stuff making my own chill beat ,thats so cool :'D

    Thzz again

    a msg from Hong Kong

    SunnyL

  • ahhah..actually money is not my big concern~

and i know the price of mpc2500 also..really expensive..but i can afford it

    sorry for bothering again

i wanna know if u have any good websites for the starters to use mpc2500?

    and some how-to stuff?

    thz for answering again

  • I love coffee

  • I GOT SKILLZ,BABY!!!

  • dude thats wack thats a mpc 2500 and thats the best drum loop you can come up wit you better put that mpc on ebay

  • Who said that was the best? I've done better, and different-er. ;)

  • ok then

  • Sometimes less is more. With sounds added, simplicity might be better than complex stuff.

  • OMG MAN ii LiiKE DiiZ BEAT YO YUH SHOULD SEND ME DAT BEAT...

  • cool bruh check out the beats at myspace(dot)com/elsewherebeats

  • How original...*PUKES*

  • stay away from fruty loop, you need a real application. Digital Performer. that my friend is no JOKE>

  • have u used any software as fruity loops or reason before you got your mpc?

  • No, the MPC was my first real production-related purchase. I do have a musical background, though.

  • i'm feeling this one. it's more of what hip hop needs now a change.

  • Mainstream hiphop needs a change. There ain't nothing wrong with those underground artists like Fatlip, Pigeon John, Abstract rude and guys like those.

  • wow i wouldnt dare drink even water near my shit, much less coffeiei

good video though, one of the better beat vidz around

  • You are the scott schiller that makes crazy stuff with javascript? Pd: Good beat, sounds like perfect for a sunday morning... :)

  • Thanks, man - yeah, I'm better at Javascript than I am at the MPC I think, have a ways to go. ;) It's pretty fun though.

  • another banger! i love the combo of those two drum loops and the chops making this track come together. tight!

  • Thanks. I think I've done better off-film, this was somewhat quick. Some other beats I've done are at freshly-ground (.com) /temp/beats

  • "Workflow" is 2 bars in this case, switching out tracks via track mute mode when playing back the beat (ie. adding layers, drums, piano etc.) Better ways to do it?

  • What up. What kind of Camcorder are you using? The shit is clear as hell. And the audio sounds nice.Hollla back

  • Digital camera actually, does 848x480 widescreen 30fps(!)

    Panasonic DMC-FX01

Audio is recorded on a computer (line out/in), then synced with the video (from memory card, etc.) for exporting.

  • Nice work on your sh*t too. I make better video than I do beats right now. Working on the latter. ;)
