what does that even mean? sage francis raps over snares that sound just like that one? well guess what, so does the rest of hip hop, it's called a drum break.
This video was sampled by Kutiman for "Thru-You", he basically went beat digging on YouTube and made music from videos of keyboards, singing, rapping etc. Check it out.
Whats that spanish-themed sample called? I don't think it is called "South of the border" because I just searched that song and it wasn't it. I've been looking for that song forever!
I forget actually where I found that one - Random oldies a friend had brought over. I know of De-Phazz, would be a pretty random coincidence if they'd used the same.
anyway~ nice work man~! ur username right here is scottchiller.. u also like chillout music~?im just lovin it~ btw is that if i get one mpc2500, a computer , a pair of speakers n some softwares then I can play some sampling already~? im totally new to digital audio stuff just want get started..~ thz for answering..! regards SunnyL
You can get an MPC (expensive), or software on a computer and then connect an MPC-style "trigger pad" which is like the MPC pads but with a USB connector.
Mainstream hiphop needs a change. There ain't nothing wrong with those underground artists like Fatlip, Pigeon John, Abstract rude and guys like those.
"Workflow" is 2 bars in this case, switching out tracks via track mute mode when playing back the beat (ie. adding layers, drums, piano etc.) Better ways to do it?
i don't drink coffee around my MPC anymore....(had an accident) and I stopped smokin around it too...
sample source: crystal Clear persuasion by Tommy James and the Shondells

No, the MPC was my first real production-related purchase. I do have a musical background, though.

Digital camera actually, does 848x480 widescreen 30fps(!)
Panasonic DMC-FX01
Audio is recorded on a computer (line out/in), then synced with the video (from memory card, etc.) for exporting.
