  • I thought i'd seen this before..i see i commented 6 months ago...gosh has it really that long ago ! "do you know youtube !" sometimes i wish i did'nt...i'd have so much more time for other things ..know what i mean :), i wonder what kind of art that was on the plates and things at 01.55 , did you buy any paintings from that other stall.Good to watch this again...thanks for sending :O)

  • this broad is so stupid, she makes ukrainians look like idiots..."its an online community where everybody can make their own channel"...i wouldnt even know what the hell shes talking about. obviously ukes know what youtube is, there is "UKETUBE" which is a uki youtube.

  • that surely was not my intent at all; what's yours?

  • :) ahhh..

    do you have any tapes?

  • Neat 25 :) I love this video.I have wonderful memories of living on gateaux from Kiev.

  • hehe and I like when someone visits Kiev, nice to know that someone interested in Ukraine :)

  • I hope to return (I was sick in bed most of the last trip) and spend some time in this beautiful city and friendly people (wasn't it called the Paris of the east at one time?) My sister will return in May this year...I should loan her my camera :)

  • well, if you'd asked some younger people, probably they would answer, because people who's like 30-40 years old almost don't know english, cause when they were studying it was ussr, and it almost was no english lessons there, and ofcourse they have no idea what is youtube, because some of them doesnt even know what is internet :D

  • Thanks, kish182; I appreciate your thoughts :)

  • This was fun Lizzz, did you ever find anybody there who knew about ze you tube ? you travel alot don't you ! :)

  • No, the closest was the humorous fellow who, while he sold me his wares, told me about his son who spends much time online (he would have been the one to ask)...I travel somewhat and I'm getting antzy to go somewhere as I type (I do have airline tics in hand, yes! lol) :D

  • she is POSSESSED BY YOU TUBE, INSANE. HELP HER NOW LOL

  • Do you know what is domivka.нет or muzon.ком? or maidan.орг.уа? What if i ask this questions regular people on streets of NY, or LA? or even better somewhere in Arizona... in Ukrainian language. What the answer and reaction will be? It is realle weard that americans think that everyone in the world shold speak English, use internet, and know some whoknowswhat.ком website. P.S. Hope you had a great time in Ukraine.

  • You sound rather offended over nothing. Do you really take offence at LizBizToo asking ppl about YT, and in English, or is it because she's a travelling American? I see nothing offensive in this video at all.

  • I do see, in your comment, small mindedness and perhaps jealousy? How many people around the world do you think speak Ukranian compared to English? And how many ppl have heard of KOM website compared to YouTube. You need to get over being less than you want to be and just be happy with what you are.

  • Thank you for your input, Sainter1 :)

  • And I also wanted to say, so people after watched this video wouldn't have opinion about Ukraine like haha retards they dont speak english and dont know about internet etc..just, its not that bad :P

  • hey noo I'm not offended at all :) I'm just trying to explain why the most of people dont know english or about youtube. And I'm not getting jealous...I dont know why you think that I'm offended or something. I know that here in Ukraine not really many people who do speak English, and sometimes I feel sorry for my country.

  • I understand what you are saying. Thankyou for your comment. :)

  • hehe okey :)

  • I feel it did what was intended, reaching out to others: there was some communication between people who didn't speak the same language, and many shared smiles. Yes, I had a great time, Thx.

  • i'd say most of these people missunderstand it. you should have had a translator.

  • yes i realize that; if i were doing a serious documentary a translator would definitely be in order!

this was only a 'test' to see if there was some recognition of 'youtube' Thx for watching and commenting :)

  • Stupid video...

  • Well, it's true. English is hardly spoken in Ukraine.

That leads to some degree of izolation.

However, it's not as bad as it looks.

15 years ago during the USSR times Ukrainians had a very little idea about outside world.

  • - 15 years ago during the USSR times Ukrainians had a very little idea about outside world. - Where you got this info from? By living in USA I can say this thing about Americans.

  • its amazing how the old and new combine in old europe.beutiful architecture.I bet alot of people in kiev know what youtube is now!!!it takes just one person to start to spread luz around!!!

  • Wonderful Liz! Ostar (sp?) tipping his hat awwwwwww :) The people seem so friendly. They say "Love" is the International language, well look out "Love" YouTube has arrived and Liz is spreading the word! :D Great job on the video :)

  • Are you finding me a handsome Ukrainian husband? It looks like it!

  • This is one things I like about YouTube, you can in a way visit places around the world. Great video!!

  • Looks like you're having fun! and there's a lesson there for everyone. Never give. I'm sure you'll find someone there who knows what you tube is eventually.

  • You're a Tube-evangelist! Thanks for sharing shots from your trip.

  • Tell the world Liz! YAY.

  • Oh Liz! Going aroud in a kind of light delirium, asking people on the streets of Ukraine if they know YouTube... it is a form of sadness that makes me smile in the end :>

  • The linear air distance from me to Kiev is almost exactly 1300km or as non-metric people would say: 800 miles.

I would say that's far far away!

...but still much closer than the U.S.A.

  • Fantastic, looking forward to the next installment:) Looks like your on a YouTube crusade lol

  • lol thoroughly teased Lizzz! I liked the husband pic, hmmm...i wonder if we could...no no lol. Kiev's buildings and streets are classic eh- be wonderful to paint methinks. btw, YT should put you on a commission! Another great vid as always :)

  • Awesome, Liz! Never has the axiom "the more the merrier" been truer than it is in regards to YouTube. Hope you're having a ball!

  • nice

  • loved it! G

  • thanks

  • Wonderful. I hope you wrote it down for your new freinds in Ukraine so that they hopefully find us here. Hello Ukraine, you're welcome!
