I love how the song starts like a ballad, and the lyrics are about dispair and hopelessness, then slowly the whole thing builds up, and after the transition at 4:44, becomes one of the heaviest things I've heard from Nevermore. Then, the lyrics get even darker, threatening, and are more about rage than about sadness.

The hard and fast heavy part in a literal sense represents both the physical and inner struggle of the machine as it years for the destruction of mankind, yet suffers internally in its envious desire to possess that which man has denied it.
