Nobody would snore on purpose; it's a medical issue. It just seems comical because it's not AIDS or cancer, but even sleep disorders can be deadly.

Send him to the doctor. If he checks out okay for other disorders, there are many devices available that may help as well as surgical procedures. If he doesn't want to go, show him the vids and tell him he's gaining an internet following like that Chris Cocker guy.

Send him to a Dr. for a sleep study. He probably has sleep apnea. A CPAP machine will make him sleep relatively quietly. You're mom will be thrilled.
