Everyone IS a unique individual, partly because we come from different backgrounds and have different experiences, which is enhanced, tremendously, when that includes people whos backgrounds are much different instead of just all being pretty similar. I grew up in a white flight suburb, about 8 black kids in a class of several hundred. Getting to college and being around people not just of different races but nationalities was a big part of the education.
