That was the best part of that movie. To see the two younger guitarist instantly transformed into starry-eyed kids. Jack White's cockiness is instantly washed away when Page plays a little riff he wrote some years back...
I'd love to see a sequel to this film, with Page facing off against some of his true peers - people like Keith Richards, Blackmore, or Pete Townsend. But, we all know those people would likely have trouble being in the same room with each other; rivalries going on for decades.
Axl Rose once said that this riff was the "sexiest riff in rock and roll". That's what hard rock lacks today. It's all about death and hatred. What a bunch of dorks. I mean when you got bands called Dying Fetus, Hatebreed, and Kill Your Mother Then Eat Her Brains, what does this say about their artistic mind set? Could you imagine icons like Beck, Clapton, Page, McCartney, Townshend, the Edge, Plant, Gilmour, Stewart or any of them playing in a band with a name like that?
....Do you have any idea how many songs by Pink Floyd, The Edge, Paul McCartney and Clapton are about death?
Pink Floyd = Wish you Were here, obvious.
Paul McCartney = He was in The Beatles...that is all.
The Edge = Bloody Sunday? the War album?
Clapton = Tears in Heaven? ever heard that one? the one about the two year old falling out of a window, fucking depressing song, artists today have NOTHING on these guys when it comes to death songs.

@droesable I don't think that Jack White is on the same planet with Page when it comes to versatility. I will say that Jack White plays with guts, is not at all predictable and exciting to listen to. These are qualities that I'm sure impress Mr. Page. I watched It Might get loud and I thought it was pretty funny that "Edge" has 28 buttons to get the same sound..
I't's a great riff but is this his original riff or did he steal it? and another thing if any other guitarist played exactly what Page just did other guitar players would either be saying "you messed up there" or "that's not right" God Jimmy you're just so very sloppy
No tough guy here bro,You need to be careful of who's on the other end of the computer,WTF have you done in your meek 25 yrs? And did I mention I also have been playing drums and bass for over 30 years, while you were shitting yourself and nursing on a teet I was already in a band playing out,so do yourself a favor and shut YOUR rookie mouth when the adults are talking, you just mite not put your foot in your mouth so much.
I love how, both Jack white and Edge guitarists from past and present show so much respect and happiness to see a legend of their time play a riff that rocked the masses. pure joy, their expressions show true happiness and respect for Jimmy Page and what it means to be a passionate guitarist.
DAMN FUCKING RIGHT ! YOU BETTER LOOK AT HIM WITH AWE ! WHEN YOU DONT EVEN HAVE TO STRAP ON YOUR OWN GUITAR BECAUSE THERE'S SOMEONE THERE TO DO IT FOR YOU THEN MAYBE YOU REACHED THE LEVEL OF MR. PAGE. AND I DO MEAN MAYBE!
@cottonfever1221 SORRY BOUT THAT..But I think of all these little one trick pony players out now that have their own sig guitar's I get all jacked up,do you see how mesmerized Edge and Jack are ? that alone says it ALL !
@cottonfever1221 Every famous musician has a guitar tech. Jimmy has a guitar tech. You think he fixes all his guitars up by himself? No. He has people do it for him so he can focus on the important part: playing the actual guitar.
Also, those "one trick-ponies" will supersede anything you do in your lifetime.
@spicyMcHAGGIS9green REALLY? Do you know me ? If you did you WOULD know I hold more than one National level benchpress records, there's less people in the world who can bench 600lbs than there are who can play guitar great,so do your homework BEFORE flaming someone and sorry I did'nt realize YOU were one of the one trick ponies I mentioned. I did'nt attack you personally so mind your manners you little pencil necked fuck,I said NOTHING to you,go practice or do something worthwhile FUCKFACE!
@SuperHotrod4 yes, but I think he finds he MUST play it....just....a ... bit.... different, each time. You hope you hear something new each time...I did here. Leslie West strikes me the same, playing old Mountain songs, he still seems to hear "new chords". The guitar remains an amazing instrument.
@ggiul1256 "I think Jack White is definitely a hero to a young generation of guitarists and an old generation of guitarists,"- Jimmy Page ....yeh.....
I was 5 when i found my dads Zeppelin 2 & 4 albums in an old milk crate, i still have them, probly worth alot, but i ain't ever gettin rid of em. I owe Led Zeppelin for turning me into a rocker!

yeah there are more complicated songs and chords. But that's not what anyone cares about. What WE care about is a rockinmuthafuckin riff that's gonna kick down the doors of our reality. And whole lotta love does that.

I never thought I'd stand in the same building as them...religious
@leftystrat76 I smiled too and I was born in 1980 but I was raised with led zeppelin's music those days here in mexico there was a little hard to get their records but I had several cassettes I used to listen to whole lotta love late at night in a walkman and the sound effects made me feel... well I can't describe that sensation, just try it, listen to that song alone in the darkness and you'll see what it makes you feel :-)
I can't even imagine watching Jimmy Page play this song right in front of me. It would be crazy to see the guy who came up with it playing it. He is certainly a guitar god. Wow.
Check Out GO FOR GOLD by TOKYO ROSE a ROCK ANTHEM for the Millions who would like to win the GOLD. The video is Satirical and Entertaining, could a man smoking really beat USAIN
@AhYaOk I wish my generation would too. Ive gotten some of my friends hooked on Zeppelin and ZZ Top but most other 13 year olds listen to that rap crap they call music.
Jack's face is the face I have whenever my guitar teacher plays one of my favorite tunes, so just imagine what my face would be like if Mr. Page was playing for me.
@cubsfands29 Get a les paul, get an old marshall head, n slap a 1960 cab underneath, crank it, learn jimmys technique via this video, and you're all set. im not kidding either, or just take whatever you got, and run the guitar straight into the amp and turn it up to 8, but keep the gain down on 4, cleaner than you think it should be. and put all the other knobs on 5,
You know its something special when, award winning and great musicians like jack white and the edge that have played in front of thousands, still get chills and excited to see Jimi play! LEGEND!!
@VladFerdinand1 your missing the point. The whole thing about this movie was to see the guitar from 3 DIFFERENT generations. David and Eric are amazing musicans, but they are all from the same era. You would just have a bunch of guys talking about show from the 60's n 70's, and very little about music now.
@VladFerdinand1 Actually, it wouldn't. The whole point was to bring three generations of guitarists together. The look of awe on both the Edge and White's faces when he breaks into the riff is worth it. It was a look of respect, and I suspect a "This is why I got into the guitar" moment.

Wow.

@AhYaOk I wish my generation would too. Ive gotten some of my friends hooked on Zeppelin and ZZ Top but most other 13 year olds listen to that rap crap they call music.

The way Jack White lowered his guitar is like a swordsman laying down his sword for a master.

Both Edge and Jack knew to just....shut up....not try to play along....and enjoy.

Jack's face is the face I have whenever my guitar teacher plays one of my favorite tunes, so just imagine what my face would be like if Mr. Page was playing for me.

What amps/pedals is he using. I'm trying to get this sound
cubsfands29 1 month ago
@cubsfands29 Get a les paul, get an old marshall head, n slap a 1960 cab underneath, crank it, learn jimmys technique via this video, and you're all set. im not kidding either, or just take whatever you got, and run the guitar straight into the amp and turn it up to 8, but keep the gain down on 4, cleaner than you think it should be. and put all the other knobs on 5,
Jed844 1 month ago
@Jed844 well i already have a les paul custom. thanks. i wasnt sure if he was using a hiwatt or marshall in this video.

This doc would have been waaaaay better if they had replaced The Edge and Jack White with David Gilmour and Eric Clapton.
VladFerdinand1 1 month ago 2
@VladFerdinand1 your missing the point. The whole thing about this movie was to see the guitar from 3 DIFFERENT generations. David and Eric are amazing musicans, but they are all from the same era. You would just have a bunch of guys talking about show from the 60's n 70's, and very little about music now.
LoudnProud42 1 month ago
@VladFerdinand1 Actually, it wouldn't. The whole point was to bring three generations of guitarists together. The look of awe on both the Edge and White's faces when he breaks into the riff is worth it. It was a look of respect, and I suspect a "This is why I got into the guitar" moment.

I can't imagine that feeling of seeing that song being played 5 feet in front of your face by Jimmy Page himself. Who wouldn't smile.
