Man, my first daughter came after just under two hours of labor and less than half an hour of pushing, and getting to the hospital involved an ambulance! My second daughter arrived in a more orderly fashion (1 hour and 40 minutes of active labor), but delivery only took three pushes. Your labors make me look like a slowpoke!
@ericalindberg It gets even better-I had just completed EMT training with the same rescue squad three months before she was born, and the paramedic on the ambulance was one of my preceptors from that time! And my husband wonders why I didn't want him calling 911. So much for professional dignity!
Tee hee, I have been the midwife showing up to one of these births! Good for you and your midwife for being so relaxed. Thank God you were planning a homebirth because doing that in a car would not have been pleasant!
@midwifemisty There is no way I would have made it to the hospital. One of the reasons why I planned a home birth, mine go so quick! It is so exciting. :)
@JMConry My full labor was 40 minutes. Him coming out and pushing stage was about 30 second, not even joking. :) My daughters labor was 25 minutes, but the pushing was about 55 seconds. I have that one on video as well.
congratulations and WOW :D Makes me want to have a homebirth EVEN MORE! geez .. lol

@dragondancer1814 But how fun is that story! An ambulance ride. :) Pretty sure I am just a freak of nature that was born to give birth.

Aw too bad you didn't get video. Did you videotape your other one? Were you scared when it came out and you were alone?

@100rrh I videotaped both of my other children's birth's. :) Wasn't scared at all. My instinct kicked in and I knew exactly what to do.
