@SolidSmush  doesn't matter. So is Europe. No we are not perfect. I have travelled the world , lived in Europe and I live in Manhattan. On 911 I saw what "My America" was about" I saw everyone helping everyone, no passports needed, no creeds, no colors. It was a site I will never forget. My Dad was in WW2. I was never prouder in the midst of terrible tragedy. The People stood together as one.

American citizens can now be indefinitely detained and executed without trial, without evidence without anything, (on American soil, far from any battlefield mind you.) at the whim of the president as of Saturday.

@SolidSmush Loving your people is different than loving your government. My Father was from Ireland, served in ww2, My Mom, Sweden. They came by ship leaving everything at home. I grew up in NYC and was fortunate to have friends from everywhere.

This was presented in 1976 to mark the bicentennial. I as an American did not have a clue as to what lay ahead. There were ships from all countries in New York Harbor. I saw it on TV. So heartbreaking that it didn't turn out. It makes me very sad at 60 years of age. I never wanted to ever see anyone hurt. I hated the Vietnam war! I hated the Iraq war! I hate all war!!!!!
