  • Anyone knows what amp he is using on this show?

  • @SaKaCorChos No amp; he telepathically sends the sound directly into your consciousness. This power was so great that it is even transferred through a 58 year-old video.

  • @SaKaCorChos Chet was using an EchoSonic, a hand built amplifier made by tv repairman Ray Butts from Cairo, Illinois. They have a built in tape loop echo to get that slapback sound in a live setting. Less than 70 of these were ever made (they were over $400 in the 50's!) and all were built by Ray. The most famous echosonic is the one played by Scotty Moore on Elvis records from 1955's Mystery Train on the Sun label, all the classic early RCA records and on the 68 Comeback Special.

  • @rockabillycat1954 thanks for the info! I will try to buy one of this EchoSonic if I have a chance, but don´t think that it sound as well as Mr Chet!!

  • THE MASTER, Mr. Guitar Chester Atkins R.I.P.
