  • 1:42-1:45 i love the sound of a Dodge Engine back in the day (Mopar got balls),sadly today they dont sound like nothing from before

  • What exactly do you mean by rebuilt vehicles? body work or drivetrain rebuild?

The engine sounds pretty healthy and the body is in overall pretty decent condition.

I've heard that many chrysler vehicles have a built in OBD2 code display system. If you have the manual it probably tells you how to get the codes. Then you can search them online and find the cause of your engine check light. NAPA sells a "CANOBD2" tool cheap that works well too.

Looks like a pretty decent little pickup truck :)

  • I can't stand the V6, I owned a 4.7 V8 then I drove a V6 for a couple months and I got the exact same gas mileage and so much less power. But I miss my Dakota and I so want another one. I'm looking for a 2008 or newer, dont even care what color, I saw the perfect electric blue and I'm going to paint it immediately. I would settle for an 05 or newer, but I like the front ends on the 08's

  • nice i love it

  • I got a 2000 dakota too, but i got the 4.7 v8

  • 17 dollar cherry bomb? ahaha

  • nice i like the 3.9 v6 quad cabs but you got a nice truck im sure it will improve as you own it

  • try getting your bands adjusted...thats what was rong with mine.it did the same thing exept it also wouldn't go into revers.

  • My 2000 dodge dakota also randomly has the engine light come on.. Normally if it goes over 3k rpm is pops on.. Mechanics and I have looked through it and nothing is wrong. I was told it is popular with dakotas. And also when mine is cold it doesn't want to shift well either, but its just trying to warm up. Yet, it only does that in the 30's, not the 70's

  • @The89Bulldog89 my dakota, we had to buy a new gas cap. it was screwing with something in the EVAP system causing an engine light to come on

  • LOL! You and your 85 year old friend!!! HAHA

  • LOOOL HAHA

  • i have a 98 dodge dakota sport with the 3.9 magnum v6 i love it its my first car erm well truck lol but anyway its a 5 speed and i love it it has a dynomax muffler on it and it sounds pretty good i have a question the temp gauge stays cold and it runs really cool but sometimes it will climb up to normal and keep goin a little then when you turn on the heat with it at normal temp the air is cold then the temp will go down and the air gets hot is that a problem with the thermostat

  • yeah i got a 2000 dakota club cab 3.9l standard, its stock 175 hp i have daul straight pipes with gibson headers,k &n cold air intake with throttle body spacer and a bully stage three clutch, with a chip. it sound really good and is ow 427hp

  • lmao 2 427hp...thats believable

  • i love Dakota!, i got a 98 with 130,000 miles on it, which i put on the last... hmm about 10-20,000 miles on it, but we got it back in 03 with 60,000 miles

  • if your saying it doesnt have first and second it could be loose wires because it will use third as safety mode, just check your wires, they could be either loose or corroded

  • pretty clean under the hood, put an intake on that and it will sound even better. you can never underestimate a 3.9 either way.

  • if it takes off in 3rd gear valve body is stuck or a sensor for the gear are bad

(happend to my jimmy started in 3rd gear and broke the tranny valve body keep doing that issue)

  • ive got a 98 3.9 v6 dakota also, have a cherrybomb glasspack on it, sounds nice on startup, want to get myself an 5.9 R/T someday, they are way down in price.
