  • I just recently found out my family is from Northern/Mid Coahuila about 30 minutes inland from the ocean small but youthful ppl even as elders.Where can I access this don Mario Garza study? I do ciculos with youngsters who have gotten in trouble with the police and I love to teach them about La Cultura.

  • Thank you Samuel. Now possibly at the next meeting I will have 4 songs to sing. Please continue to post these sacred ways.

  • Google: Indigenous cultures institute

  • Anyway, the information on Coahuiltecan words came from Don Mario Garza who wrote an in depth study on the Coahuiltecan language.

After all, the Coahuiltecos are the ones that actually live in the Peyote gardens in Coahuila and Texas. Email him for more info. He sells a cd with ALL words translated. For example, Yana wana yo means: All water is sacred...

  • Really? I got this song from a Danzante from df... who often travels to Colorado. Maybe that's where he got it from. But when I heard it, the lyrics also included "Tlazocamati Peyotzin" ... Is that the song that Don Castaneda composed? It was on a cd that this danzante was selling.

  • this song was composed by Carlos Castaneda (not the one from the books)...the danzante from Denver, Colorado....de donde sacaste la información del idioma coahuilteca? gracias por compartir

  • Nahuatl (Aztec/Mexica)

Also, ALL Native American Church songs are at least partially in Coahuiltecan. Yana=sacred wana=water (birth water) Hey ney yo wey=I sing with all that I am.

Nahuatl: Tlazocamati = Thank you (or love to you) Tonantzin (our Mother Earth)

Hope that answers your question. :)

  • what language is this?
