Les sauts, l'élévation sont impressionnants mais les bras manque de fluidité et d'abandon surtout pour "Giselle" et particuliérement au 2ème acte,David Hallberg ne démerite pas du tout mais l'orchestre est limite flonflon, Adam n'est pas Tchaikovsky certes mais la partition de "Giselle" est loin d'être mauvaise

For a moment I forgot that this is the Vasiliev version. Which is why the Albrecht variation is different at the start.

i'm happy to see natalia being offered chances to do roles such as giselle that are very emotional and graceful. this gives her a chance to work on things such as softer arms and capturing a tragic character. she could just be relegated to roles that spotlight her fantastic athletic ability and jumps but she's being given the chance to grow and mature as an artist. she'll only get better! bravo natalia! and mr. hallberg...wow!

David Hallberg is entirely revelatory. His phrasing is so nuanced! And this is just my opinion but I don't like Osipova's port de bras. She has a very particular brand of movement that is very athletic, but I just don't think it looks right for this role, she's almost too on top of the movement for the character to be convincing. I hope she finds a good coach/mentor who can soften her arms and hands...

theyre both technically brilliant... especially davids lines and feet... unfortunately it was a horrible giselle do to lack of dramaticism... like the mariinsky's galina mezentseva and konstantin zaklinsky were MUCH better than this... nothing can live up to natalia bessmertnovas.. idk it will never be the same. :( but i mean they were nice... but it wasnt too memorable... like i said both technically polished. dancers dont REALLY dive into the character... they just act sad or make sad faces.

@pediatrapaola You do not mention the greatest-Madame Galina Ulanova,she made this role her own.She is not as gymnastic as modern day ballerina's but she was a true dancer of the classic kind.

Osipova is definitely a youtube generation ballerina, the kind of tricks-driven dancer who excites in small doses but lacks technical and artistic polish. Tendency to sickle, problematic port de bras, etc., but no doubt amazing springing ability. Hallberg is a consummate artist with astonishingly refined technique, ballon, and a full understanding of the character. Bravo to David.

@merluzasfritas MrsSmith152 I've seen about 40 ballerinas in Giselle (in the title part) and I think Natalia (I saw her live too) is one of the best, very emotional and with so airy dancing. But it all is matter of taste: for many people Bessmertnova and Mezentzeva were the best, for me - the worst, sorry.
