@mikedd56 oo I'm not like 300lb dude sitting outside McDonalds haha I'm not American.. Im girl from Croatia and I know what rotten policy is, trust me my friend.. there is no rage I just feel sorry for people living there. Most of all I wanna help them to see the real picture. The truth is - Yes Malaysia is more humane than America, actually any country without hidden agenda is more humane..
So a country that executes it's people if u bad mouth the govt is totally humane as long as they're upfront about it. Yea real sound logic. Besides I'm sure Malaysia has a real squeaky clean govt, nothing to hide at all right.
Anyone who thinks its in any way humane to execute people for having 7oz of pot is either psychotic or delusional
Its all that black bitches fault (Jada Pinckett Smith) for letting the story go public and pissing off the oriental judge and get Joaquin Peonix to get hanged. Never trust darkie bitches.
@Amoraklin2 no you are wrong and a racist. It is that journalist bitches fault, she cared to much about her profession and her "business" than peoples lives. There is a moral to this movie, journalists are assholes. That is why whenever I hear about journalists being killed in the Middle East, Africa, Mexico, or East Asia, I can care less to be honest. Fuck journalists!
@MobHeataEnt It's because she's a fuckining Nigger journalist bitch played by Will Smith's ex-wife. She was responsible for getting Joapuin Pheonix executed by those slanted eye muslim creeps at the end and forced Vince Vaughn to spend the next six years tortured in the prision by muslim orientals. Niggers are nothing but trouble.
@Amoraklin2 You must haven't seen the film, Vince Vaughn's character was released just a few months after Joaquin Phoenix's character was executed. Also, like I stated before, what difference does it make what her race was at the end she was still a journalists and all journalists are annoying selfish parasites no matter what race they are.
As for Lewis the poor nature-loving, God-fearing boy sentenced to death by the ruthless Malaysians - you didn't even see enough of his character to be able to form any opinion on him. Sheriff's character was an oafish dullard who didn't seem to have any morality till he got laid by the lawyer/sister/joke of a character Beth.
...African countries, but its America committing the WORST atrocities.
Saddam gassed his own people, used WMDs on the Kurds & Iranians, had numerous torture facilities complete with rape rooms, even children were held there. But thanks to the atrocity committing Americans the rooms are no more.
Religious fanatics fly planes into our buildings killing thousands but hey we deserved it for all the WORST atrocities.
@mikedd56 ''When has America ever attacked its own people? Could u point out some...''
For several years prior to the events of 9/11, top American strategists had been acknowledging the necessity of what they oft-termed a “new Pearl Harbor”, a momentous attack upon America itself, in order to mobilize the American populace for a new global war of domination.
@mikedd56 They turn young people into killers who just obey orders and spread terror all over the world? That is attack on its own people and people in other countries as well my friend. The US government has a hidden agenda - a conspiracy to establish a global empire. The insiders behind US government policy, including Vice-President Dick Cheney, and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld have openly declared their bold vision for "American world leadership" a "global leadership".
Oh brother a conspiracy theorist, at least I think, were u saying 9/11 was a govt conspiracy. Or just ur silly random accusation 'they turn young people into killers.' Are u talking about the fact that they have an army. You know it really doesnt matter you obviously live w/ ur head way too far up ur ass for me to consider you intelligent enough to debate with.
The classic American theme of "any justice outside our own is inferior" was pathetic - from a country that commits some of the worst atrocities and still enforces the death penalty. The Malaysians were portrayed as a bunch of ignorant, unfeeling animals which is simply untrue and unfair.
People very rarely get executed here & its only multiple murderers & people protest outside the prison w/o fear of rebuke, u think Malaysia tolerates protestors
Malaysia executes drug traffickers (7oz+ of pot / 1/2 oz+ of heroin), this movie didnt just make that shit up its real. But hey ur right Malaysian justice is clearly superior, certainly more humane.
How do u get ur brain to justify such contradictions?
People are getting their arms chopped off for no reason in certain...
I'm remember seeing this movie -- of ALL movies -- for the first time on a flight to Southeast Asia. I flushed every loose Tylenol and Advil I had down the toilet.
Wow - I haven't seen this one since it came out. I think I will find it and buy it now! Incredible movie and story. Joaquin was totally awesome and so was the rest of the cast. Heartbreaker, sad and you will definitely tear up!!!
mmh.. I don't think so. It's more about the prisoners' dilemma. I think it's based on the psychological experimenting. I hope that my englisch is not to bad :p
The 90s scores completely own music/scores from any other decade of movies. And 90s had such a cinematography and sense of location that todays movies don't have either. I don't like dramas that much, but this trailer really makes me want to see this.
I would not have went back.
