  • Thank you so much for these wonderful videos!

I am planning a big trip for me and my boyfriend this summer and you have been a great help for me! I have two questions though.

What company did you go whale whatching with? And can you recommend a good hotel in Los Angeles? My budget is max. 200 dollars pr. day.

Thank you so much in advance!

    Regards from Denmark!

  • @CecilieMarie87 Thanks for your kind words! Our trip was with the Ocean Institute in Dana Point, which I highly recommend. As for hotels in your price range, right now the Langham Huntington in Pasadena (formerly the Ritz-Cartlon) has a $199 rate. If you want to be in the heart of Downtown LA, The Standard has a $172 rate, and a $199 rate in their West Hollywood location. One of my favorite booking sites is Jetsetter. You can also find some good travel deals on Living Social.

  • @CaliforniaTravelTips Thank you so much! I'm so glad I asked you! I already looked at The Standard, but I wasn't sure if it was any good, but I trust your opinion! But the hotel in Pasadena looks AMAZING! Thank you once again! This is a fantastic channel!

  • @CecilieMarie87 You're welcome! If you want something truly special for the $200, I would stay at the Langham in Pasadena. The Standard is more of a party-style spot, if you're into that sort of thing. I hear the Downtown LA location is better, but downtown can be pretty sketchy. If you know where in LA you want to stay, I can help you find some more deals at some popular places. :)

  • HA-HA! I kayaked out in Redondo and almost got knocked over by one today... Some I'm like the president and ceo of the blue whale club!

  • @ootslaton Was it a gray or blue whale?

  • @CaliforniaTravelTips ...Blue!...They're right off the coast of Redondo and/or Palos Verdes right now. They've been there for a week or so, but are slowly leaving. So, if you want to go see them you should go in the next day or two... I've always wanted to see one since I was a kid and feel pretty lucky to have one come so close. Though it is a little gnarly to have one so close in such a small boat!... It's werid how great it makes you feel, just by looking at something!

  • @ootslaton Very cool! What a great story. I can't imagine being in a kayak next to one. They were big enough next to our huge whale watching boat. What an incredible experience!

  • @CaliforniaTravelTips .. Yeah, I just didn't want one to accidentally knock us in. It's cold water and wasn't all that warm of a day, today.

  • I went on a whale watching tour in Monterey, it was great!

    Cheers from Sweden

  • Sounds fun. Did you see any whales?

  • What a fantastic tour!
