As for hotels in your price range, right now the Langham Huntington in Pasadena (formerly the Ritz-Cartlon) has a $199 rate. If you want to be in the heart of Downtown LA, The Standard has a $172 rate, and a $199 rate in their West Hollywood location. One of my favorite booking sites is Jetsetter. You can also find some good travel deals on Living Social.

The Standard is more of a party-style spot, if you're into that sort of thing. I hear the Downtown LA location is better, but downtown can be pretty sketchy. So, if you want to go see them you should go in the next day or two... I've always wanted to see one since I was a kid and feel pretty lucky to have one come so close. Though it is a little gnarly to have one so close in such a small boat!... It's werid how great it makes you feel, just by looking at something!
