Where can I find a video showing them deploying and testing the towed-decoy rig? I want to see how long the cable is, and how they maneuver with it deployed. Do they just ditch it if they have to make a fast break, or wait for it to reel back in, or can they pull a 5G left turn with it still trailing behind them...and hope their wingman doesn't hit the cable!

Nope: it's an advertising video of EADS to promote the Typhoon (international commercial name for the Eurofighter). You can see the whole footage in the related videos (about 8 mins).

They didn't have this kind of CGI when they made Top Gun, or they would have! I think that's a pretty damn good missile for a shoulder-launched SAM! Why doesn't the US buy some of those? I don't think we have any shoulder-launched missiles that have burn times or tracking THAT good. And they say US tech is the best....sheesh. I wonder: who are they advertising to? Do they expect an MP to be sitting at home and see this awesome commercial for the Typhoon and be like "Man, I've voting for THAT!"?

mmm isn't the Javelin capable of that kind of tracking using GPS and other stuff? And the stinger... AFAIK it uses heat to track the targets.

Anyway, I was saying that, the guys who directed and made this ad, should make a movie, they're really good :D
