  • Not an example of a bad PSU,this an example of an unexperienced user combining bad ass graphics cards, high performance fans, and case lighting with a PSU that cant handle it.

  • @DroodleTech Look closely at the PSU. That's generic no-name crap. While I understand that this is a foolish move (having lots of shit connected to a shit power supply), you have to differentiate between good and bad..

  • Mine just outright blew up.

  • I had a cheap-ass chinese 500 watt power supply that blew it's schottky diodes while I was running a stress test on my gtx560. Pulled it apart and swapped the diodes with those of an (ancient) 350 watt antec power supply, and - despite my best efforts - I haven't been able to make it fail since.

  • i would NEVER keep trying to turn it on like that. you could be sending bad power to the motherboard and have it destroy your Pc!

  • You could have tried disconnecting the lights in the case, they may have been just enough of a load to exceed the power supply's limits. After disconnecting the light it may have started up and ran find till you coul;d have gotten a bigger supply.

  • One of the best things to do is get an IDE or SATA power shield from otherworldcomputing. That site has saved my Mac's and Pc's HDD's many amounts of times.

  • @jbrige when you fry your mobo connecting a USB pen drive don't come here to cry.

  • dude, you are seriously a dumbass woman

  • its like a car that wont start

  • After this, you can say good bye your HDD :) I had this problem too

  • Remove the PSU and connected PSON (green) to GND (black). If it run (in risk of demaging the PC Parts) you can try to give 5V (red) from the PSU directly to PGOOD to the mainboard.....little chance that this will work, but try it ;)

  • I had this sort of issue, but it turned out our house wasn't getting the right power and barely anything would run at that time... :D

  • I dont know the components. but it looks like a beautiful pc. so you shouldnt go on doing it if you were suspecting that the psu has died. it might easily kill all units in the case.

  • Well... Turn off your TV and that stuff that you have on. If it works.

  • This is the exact same problem I had with two boards.

One got fucked just last month, but I fixed it, by putting some gasoline in the motherboard and KABOOM muhahaha.

Now the pc is working like a charm LOL

  • fyi, toggling the power on and off constantly is gonna kill the hard drive since it's banging the head :X

  • Too many viruses ;)

  • Too many lights.

  • hammer it

  • Whoa, it looks like a mechanical PC that's powered by the power button(pressing it generates energy)

  • the problem must be the gay blue diodes, AND YES THEY ARE GAY.....

  • Oh man i know how you feeld when that happend....

  • same problem here but its fixxed the PSU was dead

  • its tired

  • @astrarothx really? i didnt know that..well the PSU was the cheapest part to replace so i started form there xD

  • hey man my pc turns on normally but it doesnt detect me anything mouse, keyboard, monitor, could this be a PSU problem ?even the dvd drive doesnt eject

  • @yandykun i dont think this is the PSU's fault. your computer is on, but not detecting any devices. Check your connections

  • @xregulatorx Hey Yandukun and xregulatorx. You might want to buy PSU tester as well. It will help you to find problem. And yandykun, try turn off then turn on and tap rapid eject dvd as you can. If DVD drive still didn't eject try unplug everything that's from PSU and replug with more tight. If it still didn't help it can be PSU problem. PSU used to power up USB also. You can't connection USB without help from PSU.

  • @yandykun Motherboard problem dude

  • @yandykun Looks like a motherboard-related problem.

  • @mathieuemi666 thank you, i already replaced it.

  • @yandykun Oh, I'm sorry! Then, you replaced the PSU or the MB, or both?

    I'd like to know ;-)

  • what neon lights is the shit. dont listen to these busters man yo pc is fine bro!

  • @NZXTHADES lol check out my current pc in my channel

  • i think i have a failed psu,the pc doesn't turn on,sometimes when i turn it on the fans works for seconds and stops(not the one inside the psu case) is it a psu issue?

  • @pcworld88 most likely psu

  • @xregulatorx Is it necessary to buy a new one of the same brand,or it doesn't matter?

  • @pcworld88 brands don't matter. Stick with reputable brands such as antec corsair thermaltake etc etc

  • @xregulatorx whats a psu?

  • don't listen to them trolls, that is very cool looking

    i built my first one when i was 13 too haha, had a 3870 and a q9550

  • you do not need all of the fucking god dam lights in the fucking system,

I have no fucking lights in mine,

  • @bigjake52 want a cookie?

  • @xregulatorx why would I want an internet cookie, your computer looks gay

  • @bigjake52

And you don't get the joke.

  • @DragonFlyback256 I know the joke fagot but your computer looks quite gay

  • @bigjake52 first of all, its MY computer, and this was over 3 years ago dummy. secondly, why is my first build GAY? I don't see your face anywhere on it..LOL!

  • @xregulatorx i 'm saying lights in a computer make it look gay, what happened to the black box look, my first custom is just in a black box.

  • @bigjake52 That's just your opinion. I prefer to reveal the internal parts of my computer with lights because i think it looks cool. I guess I just like to show it off

  • vroom vroom XD

  • yeah i use a 7900GTS but wow. it eat enough power.

  • Mine died in a different way. I was scared to use my computer because it just didn't sound right. I turned it on one morning and after getting into Windows, POP and you could smell smoke too.

  • The case will shock you when a PSU goes bad, as the ground is all screwed up!

  • lol lights of failure, dont get rid of them they suit you haha

  • i had this problem once but after 4 or 5 attempts my computer would just power up then my power supply blew up and had to have a new power supply and then it worked fine

  • this could also be a bad thermal connection on the CPU causing the system to fail safe or turn itself off before damage is done... i made this mistake turning it back on over and over and turns out my heat sink fell off... that was one fried AMD T-bird 1.2ghz

  • too many lights

  • yeah it really does sound like a car

  • lol at the back view it sounds like a car going vroooooom vrooooooom lol

  • hahah, i thought the same :D

  • well dude you are lucky , when i turned the pc on, the pc stopped working, even when pressing the turn on button no respond, i had to buy a new one and i had no pc for 1 weeks which is critical for me

  • Comment removed

  • i didnt have the I/O shield. Besides it doesnt make any difference. Better ventilation actually

  • @xregulatorx Yea i know

  • I dont have that either, and some pci places on the back are free, so the air comes out of my pc very well. Also my water cooler prevents me to close the case properly :D

  • I somehow managed to loose the the IO shields to 2 of my mobos, no idea how but there you go. One of them is my server and runs 24/7 no probs. I'd like it to have a shield to keep the dust out (the intakes have an air filter) but other than that it's not causing any problems.

I recently bought an Asus mobo and the shield was such poor quality anyway I was quite disappointed, didn't fit the ports right and it was so thin and flimsy.... made my build look like shit.

  • It was made with coke-can thin style aluminium and had loads of those little flaps that are designed to ground the ports, and without noticing it I bent some of then *outwards* when I put the mobo in, meaning you get poked by a nasty piece of metal when you want to plug something in.

They were honestly so flimsy and "in the way" I don't know how anyone could have put the mobo in without getting at least some of them bent outwards.

  • @expertprogrammer actually the i/o shield is so electronic radiation doseent escape from the computer I know it sounds fake but it is true wiki it or something

  • No I/O shield?

  • @NOXXism me neither....

  • @MGazT Dont be pissed when you plug a usb device and it fries your mobo

  • @NOXXism why whould plugging a usb in to the mobo fry it? I have done this many times and no problem.

  • @MGazT do you know what is the IO shield is for?

  • @NOXXism well.. i'm guessing its just to stop someone form accidentally shorting out the mobo if they were to miss the audio jack or USB connector when they're trying to plug something in? unless you have another explanation? , I can't say I have EVER missed a connector and touched the motherboard. If that's the only reason the IO shield is there for? I've never been that clumsy.

  • @MGazT I/O shield: Picture from wikipedia

    1) Shield to keep electro-magnetic radiation inside of the case

    2) Dust Cover / Air circulation director: The fan in the power supply shall draw air throughout the entire case and not just along the short way from the I/O area to the power supply that's usually right above.

    3) Aesthetics: No ugly hole.

  • @NOXXism so I guess all them people at LAN party's who use there computers on a bench without a even a case are pretty screwed? huh..

  • @MGazT No because the mobo's aren't in a case. And I've never seen someone at a LAN party with their parts lying on the table

  • @NOXXism so you're telling me if my pc is in a case and i don't use an I/O shield my computer will go boom when I plug in a USB device, BUT if my pc is NOT in a case it's ok?

well i've been using pcs for over 15 years, most of them with out I/O shields and I tend to keep them for longer than most people who upgrade every 5 mins and I can honestly say I've never been blown up or anything by not having an I/O shield. so i'm not so really worried.

  • @MGazT Well the shield was made to fulfill a purpose and I will always use it because whenever possible

  • @NOXXism to be completely honest, the only reason i never use one is because i buy most of my mobos second hand and the I/O shield usually gets left in the sellers case. :/

its not really a choice \o/

  • did you try getting rid of the gay lights? lol i hate that shit, i built my comp, but i didnt get the lights like that, but i take my computers apart and clean them with a tooth brush every year that keeps the dust at a minimum in all the slots and such, did you but that computer or build it your self?

  • i built this when i was 13 years old. psu was just too weak. lighting isn't gay.

  • lol wut? did i even say gay? anyways, lighting doesnt help it so it is lame

  • @imadethistowatchvide Lol! It would be very helpful sometimes if you want to check your motherboard. It is not gay...

  • @xregulatorx Cheers i also built my computer when i was 13 years old :D

    Ati radeon hd 5770

    amd phenom 2 x4 955 black edition

    650watts of power!

    Thermaltake v9 windowed version :D

  • @imadethistowatchvide ur just jelouse ur mum can affor a desent comp for you thats not stolen

  • HAVE YOU TRIED CTRL+ALT+DEL?

  • you need to change the button

  • your powersupply is broken

  • second that...

  • u better i dont now how to say it in english better WATT u need better thing wear u put the black kabel in from to get stream

  • Oh man wtf my comps starting to turn itself off too while playing wow. So ugh whats the problem?

  • bad PSU :O You should calculate your PSU usage before buying stuff:p

  • u need a starter?? i got one in my car... lolz

  • Look I had such a P3 disturbed me the video card NVIDIA GeForce 5520

  • 4: If your computer is water cooled, you may need to change the water that is in your system as it gets really thick, Simply drain it out by taking the side of your computer case off and pulling the plug out and letting it drain into a bowl (Baths good) DONT GET IT IN YOUR COMPUTER AND DONT FORGET TO UNPLUG IT! If none of these work. Reply back to me.

  • 1: This could be you havent got the 4 pin connector that plugs in near to your CPU fan on your motherboard that leads from your PSU. 2: Your CPU could be overheated. 3: When you get your computer turned on after you leave it for a while go into the BIOS (F2 on your keyboard on startup) look for Turn off temperature, you could have a set temperature for your computer to turn itself off at, if so change it!

  • @Stuart, if it was caused by a low turn off temperature, he could just reset the CMOS... I think.

  • i think low PSU

  • Thats a bad 4-pin CPU connector i had the same problem once. if you run it at all without the 4 or 8 pin (depending on your mobo) it'll give the same results

  • no he is right, i had the same problem aswell, unplugged the 4/8 pin CPU connector, and my PC did not shut down.... Problem solved with a new mobo ;)

  • how do i fix that, if you did srry for askin. but i got a 600W power supply for my computer and it does the same thing

  • well, you need a new motherboard... Ifyour Power supply has some protections, it wont let you open the PC again until u close and open the power supply's button. if you hear a weird clicking sound from the inside, then, something has short-circuited ur system, and u need a new mobo...

  • Never heard so much BULLSHIT in my life!!

  • whenever i put in a game to play it shuts down after like 10 minutes, but it doesnt just turn off, it does the whole logging off saving your settings then shut down thingy. Can somebody tell me why this happens?

  • you must be pressing some buttons on your keyboard lol

  • some keyboards have shutdown keys and you're pressing them. or maybe your cpu is getting overheated

  • corsair has a good site feature for finding what wattage your computer should have

  • my fucking god. i hate people who put lights in their computer cases.

  • lol ur not a gamer then boy...almost everyone has lights in their case cuz its sexy

  • LAWLER.

  • :P...it is tho this guy is retarded...who DOSENT put lights in their case like srsly...my dad dosent like pimpin shit out but his comp even has a fiew lights in it

  • who doesnt put lights in their built computers are missing out...check out my current build in my profile

  • Everyone is a frikken computer PC expert here. Get a power supply BIG enough to power all the shit inside the case and it will run just fine. It is pretty hard to kill a hard drive.

  • ok i see that but it may be low voltage in the power supply

  • DEfenetly power supply, I have the same shit, my power s. is 500 w but it isnt enought . I need At lease 580. that what enginer told me

  • is ur ram compatible with the motherboard? are the speeds compatible?

is the power supply good enough?

    is the processor correctly socketed?

  • i'm having the same problem. can somebody help me?

  • buy a new power supply

  • thanks. how much does it costs in america?

  • Bad PSU. And don't play with it like that, trying to turn it on. You will kill your hard drive.

  • psu maybe/possible overheat

  • thats wat my pc does still

  • too weak power supply?

  • yea that was the prob

  • is the motherboard on risers?

  • short circuit maybe try to check it! ur mother board has a automatic turn off when there's a short circuit! try it dude

  • i bought a medion pc from aldi about 3 years ago

now every time i play a game or any other medium to hard task it turns off and i can hear the fan still going crazy

will a simple lean solve this problem

  • It's overheating like mine used to.. I'm pretty sure a PC can only get so hot before it cuts out...

  • It may cut off at 109c if your motherboard doesn't have settings in this area if it does you can set how hot it will get before it shuts down

  • HI

My Problem is abit diffrent... my PC shuts down after 15 mins of being on, no matter what i do, it shuts down. I turn it off the socket for about 2-3min and when i turn it back on I Can play for days. It's only the first 15min of the first time i turn my pc after a long time of not playing. Check my videos and you will see why it cant be the Temp.

    ANY IDEAS??? HELP

  • Hey bro it's doing that from a lack of power you need a bigger pcu.

    Hope this helps!!

  • Hi

THX for comment...its not the pcu i got 1300w. check my Videos and maybe then you think of something, because i have no idea.

    Thank YOU.

  • its probably over heating because of the video card.

Get a bigger fan and a bigger box so the computer can breathe.

  • i had this problem you probably need to add a little more virtual memory.. right click on my computer, advanced, setting, advanced then there's some numbers at the bottom change that..then restart your computer..and see if it works..i was annoyed by that.. and after i did it it got fixed..

  • yo i have the same problem, when i play online games or any games..

  • My PC has the same problem after 10-15min. when playing a game on my PC it shuits off by itslef and when i reboot it some program called StartupRepair pops up nad like 60 min. later i can finally turn my PC back on. do i need a new power supply?

  • most likely, but check if you're overheating first

  • OOOOO thanks for this video!!! i will try getting a new power supply :)

  • Maybe bad psu

  • Hey, you got the same case as me....why didn't you install the motherboard plate though?

And why did you keep pressing the button over and over again expecting a different result? Twice would have been sufficient for the video.

  • 00:21 sounds like a race is about to begin ROAR....ROAAR XD

  • @sonicrushfan1 Yeah, if it were our grandmothers racing in their mobility scooters!

  • I had the same problem, my motherboard was broken. Try if it's the psu ( powersupply ). Try taking off like few RAM sticks so you have 1 left. Then try bootting. If it doesnt work, take off audio card and try if its working. If its not take off your graphic's card and try. If it doesnt work, I guess it's not your powersupply.

  • yes i agree.....!!!!!!!!

  • its probably your processor, what kind of cpu do you have??

  • try holding the on bottun

  • power supply might be bad!

  • Oh and by the way, do you know how to get my AGP card out, its like its cemented, I even used tools that weren't necessary, didn't work, I don't want to break my motherboard either and I still would like to use the AGP slot, any suggestions?

  • I could feel your frustration when you experienced this, I felt the same way when I found out my old GeForce 4 MX420 stopped working because it melted to the AGP slot when I was overclocking it to run DOOM 3 on full graphics without shadows. now I'm stuck on the onboard graphics and can't play DOOM3, I'm still frustrated, plus I cant get it OUT of the slot :(.

  • your agp slot is melted onto your mobo?

  • I have some weird problems myself, when ever I double click on a game that i just recently downloaded my Computer Restarts but, for some games like example counter-strike:source, Grand Theft Auto Sand Andreas. Can Anyone Reply To This? Thanks.

  • Theres nothing wrong either, the games that I try to download are perfectly fine & my computer can handle.

  • does it blue screen first, or instantly restart?

  • it instantly restarts, There has never been a blue screen.

  • might be some sort of overheating. download "everest" and check your temps

  • your cpu is too hot thats why you computer shuts down.

  • I have this trouble too. It will shut off either during a game or just after i shut a game off. No other times. Nothing is overheating i check temps during games and up my video card fan speed with rivatuner.

I have a AMD Athlon dual core 3.1ghz, NVidia 8800GT, 2 gig ram. My PSU is 400W. Not high enough wattage?

  • your psu is too weak. upgrade at least 450w, or 30A+ on the 12v rail.

  • lmao I running a 450 watt with 18A on the rail and my 9800GT, dualcore, 2 hdds, fans.. is running completely fine

  • 24/7?

  • Gawd if you took this vid down coz theres no need for it to be up ppl wouldnt keep sending messages about it .

then u wouldnt have to keep putting "Read the description it has been fixed"

  • this is an educational video.

  • Check the adapter box for your lights might have a SHORT

  • Read the description it has been fixed

  • processor could be shot or a main component of the logic board, u should get a mac pro, its worth the money

  • mac = overpriced paperweight.

  • read description has been fixed

problem: psu didn't have enough power

gawd you guys need to read

  • this happends to mine i start playing gta 4 and after about 2mins max it shutsdown and i try turning on like urs it turns straight off for about 3mins then i can turn on only happends in gta 4 as far as i know

    specs are

    450watt psu

    amd athlon x2 5000+ 2.6ghz

    2gb ddr2 crucial ballisk

    xfx nvidia 8600gt xxx 256mb

    windows vista 32bit

any information would be gr8 help thx

  • the culprit of my problem was a weak power supply, but the sound of your system sounds fine. Try downloading this program by googling in "Everest" and check if all your temps are fine. This problem can have many possibilities

  • i downloaded a addon which can let me increase the speed of the fans so i increased from 25% too 40% and it seems to not be crashing when i play gta now im gonna be getting a new psu and 2 gb more ram soon so shud make better

  • Do you see the little red thing in the back of your power supply on the back of ur computer? whatever setting it is on now turn the to the other setting, if that doesn't work check ur motherboard if all the wires are connected properly, if that doesn't work then ur fucked and need to get a new psu
