cant believe after all this time there are still people comparing games to WoW. Guild Wards is not WoW and it's a lot diffent, Aion is not WoW and it's a lot different. Rift is NOT WoW and even if they're similar games, they have a lot of differences. WoW was not the 1st themepark, rift is not the last.

Rift, like AION and Guild Wars may first seem to be better than WoW with their more "polished" feel but in a long run WoW offers much more content, which is the most important thing in a RPG for me. I'm really looking forward to Guild Wars 2, but it will be a tough task to create a game as complete and fun as WoW. It will happen one day, but I predict WoW will hold the crown as the best MMORPG for another 5 years thanks to frequent updates.

Rift is a good game. PVE in Rift has quite some interesting mechanics that will interest people for some time. The only point that didn't keep me into Rift that I was done with the content after the second month I started.(Hardcore raiding guild - Started in September 2011) So if you are casual it might interest you and you might find it fun for alot of time. The only big turn off for me was PVP. (No Arenas and you couldn't premade Warfronts with more then 5 people)
The spell effects in this game are so bad ... I really wanted to like that game but after lvl20 I quit. Many spells are the same just in a different color, the spell "effects" are so bad and boring in this game. Also the UI looks so horrible, the only game which looks more horrible overall is Warhammer Online :/.

if played world of warcraft since release.... and it is this week if decided to finally stop with world of warcraft after all these years.. i thank blizzard for this wonderful experience. after the cataclysm i felt wow went into a downward spiral and i started to play less and less until this certain point i dont care anymore so i quited... the innovation and new design lack in expansions and thus im looking for a new game but so far nothing ive seen yet..

I played RIft in its late beta phases.....The game may have changed alot by now but wasnt impressed with it at all at that point.....They stole too much from WoW and Warhammer for my tastes.....Rift just felt like a very generic game with decent graphics......

Rift is a good game. PVE in Rift has quite some interesting mechanics that will interest people for some time. The only point that didn't keep me into Rift that I was done with the content after the second month I started.(Hardcore raiding guild - Started in September 2011) So if you are casual it might interest you and you might find it fun for alot of time. The only big turn off for me was PVP. (No Arenas and you couldn't premade Warfronts with more then 5 people)

The spell effects in this game are so bad ... I really wanted to like that game but after lvl20 I quit. Many spells are the same just in a different color, the spell "effects" are so bad and boring in this game. Also the UI looks so horrible, the only game which looks more horrible overall is Warhammer Online :/.

@astroman9thepoper Played AION for about a year and I have to say, excellent graphics and great character animation aren't worth shit when the game has little to no content. Quests are a grind, instances are a joke and the global PvP system is designed so players can gank lowbies. I quit and even as a free game..never.

pvp talking, Rift is the best mmorpg coz you got so many choices with your classes, you will need to be tactical and play well because it won't help whether you're well equiped or not ^^. That's where the concept of skill comes up.. And I liked it.

@AnonKain i stopped playing uo a month ago..last shard i played was ipy2 (in por ylem) which is in the t2a era and has around 900 clients on, no mount server, no special moves..i went back to themepark mmo's because of my lack of time..here i can just log in and pvp right away. wihtout having to restock if i die..im just done with uo..but its still the best mmorpg out there..now wow, no rift nothing ever will ever beat it..after uo, pvp on these games is so easy lol..
