Thanks for the swift reply. The last time I got the blinding bright light exam, several days ago, I could not take it. I steeled myself, breathed deeply, but it was too bright. I now have headache from it. Is it absolutely necessary every 6 months?
Good video, good presentation skills. I have glaucoma. My eye doctor does this to me after dilating my eyes and I hate it. The light is so bright, I cannot believe it has no risk. I pull away, my whole head revolts against it, I cannot stand the intense light. Is it really necessary, no alternative?
@vaspers Thanks for the support. It is the standard of care for all patients, and especially ones with an ocular disease. We try to keep this part of the exam as brief as possible while still being thorough. You could ask if the intensity of the light could be turned down a bit, but there really is not that much wiggle room for us to still get good views. Although I am sure you are not trying to resist, the best advice I can give is to relax so that your doctor can get good views faster.
