Guys! I am the Firefighter in the video. I have just been reading all the comments so far and I have had a great laugh at some of them. It was not easy trying to put that fire out when I had the BBC camera over my shoulder but thanks to all the guys at Tooting we did it with minimal damage. Happy posting guys.

On operational incidents we have to think fast and teamwork is the key. Governments cuts and their increased push for fire safety work is reducing the time available to train and develop teamwork.

Lets hope when you make a mistake it doesn't cost your life and ours!

This proves that however complacent we are acccidents happen to even highly trained personel. These guys put the fire out in the time it takes most of us to find an extinguisher. You can put a liquid fire out with water, providing you know how to do it. Don't try it on a chip pan though!

AFF, good greif, it was only a small amount of fuel, no large container. Relax with the ARFFFP, The good 'ol first aid hose, gets to work quickly and effectively.

i know it was a last second decision to control the fire, but they should have used an AFF foam or something of the like.
