Kate has written a book about how she trained Gin. Look for it on Amazon etc.

Not every dog can be as spectacular as Gin, but most can learn a lot, with the right approach. I train horses & use 4 "tents": Patient (don't get frustrated--it takes time), Persistent (keep at it), Consistent (you're training the dog every second), & Insistent (focus & don't accept mediocrity--better to do 1 or 2 tricks really well than 12 sloppily).

This is one of my favorite audition clips. It's rather unexpected--most dog acts are pretty lame. My reaction was pretty much like Ant's @ 2:40 -- "THAT'S an animal act!" Kate looks embarrassed at the audience reaction.

What is more amazing is that Kate is only 16. She's quite shy, but you'd not know it here. Once she starts performing, she's supremely confidant. Her reaction to the audience is priceless--embarrassed, but proud.
