This happened to my brother. Not breast cancer, but he cracked his head open and had a staff infection the size of a golf ball sticking out of his head. After being in the hospital for a week the doctor wanted to take the weekend off before he performed surgery. They wanted him in there four days before surgery. That's what happens trusting anyone at all for YOUR health.
I am a BC survivor, diagnosed when I was 44 (6 years ago) by routine mammogram. Under these new guidelines, I would be dead or dying. Why do people trust the government to look after their best interests when they can't run the IRS, the SSA, or even the post office in an efficient effective fashion?

While I'm against the government trying to tell us what we need to do, mammograms can CAUSE CANCER. Breast cancer has increased since those guidelines were put into play. The gov is basically backtracking because the mammograms were probably doing more damage than good.

In the 80's the Canadian gov capped ALL doctors salaries and hundreds of doctors from Canada came to the states to make a decent living. The same will happen here. Heh. I design mammography machines. We try to do everything possible decrease the radiation dose on the patient by columnating the x-ray beam to improving detector sensitivity. The radiation you receive from these tests, especially if you are having them every year, is more likely to give you breast cancer than it developing naturally. People, more is not always better and in the case of exposing yourself to high levels of radiation it is actually worse!

While I'm against the government trying to tell us what we need to do, mammograms can CAUSE CANCER. Breast cancer has increased since those guidelines were put into play. The gov is basically backtracking because the mammograms were probably doing more damage than good.

Here's another overlooked fact about government run healthcare in Canada. In the 80's the Canadian gov capped ALL doctors salaries and hundreds of doctors from Canada came to the states to make a decent living. The same will happen here. No one will go to medical school to end up making the same money as a garbage man, and there will be no new doctors in this country. The worst is yet to come. Heh. I design mammography machines. We try to do everything possible decrease the radiation dose on the patient by columnating the x-ray beam to improving detector sensitivity. The radiation you receive from these tests, especially if you are having them every year, is more likely to give you breast cancer than it developing naturally. People, more is not always better and in the case of exposing yourself to high levels of radiation it is actually worse!

You missed his point. Right now, in the current system you can get it checked whenever you want. If the government started providing healthcare, they would ration everything to keep costs down (because the rich would be fitting the bill, and the rich will do anything to make a half a penny more. ANYTHING.) The bill that is being forced through congress is a trapdoor to total government control. And THEY decide what treatment you "deserve". Its not what this country stands for.

You sound like an idiot. There is nothing in the bill going through congress that keeps you from getting care when you want it. The most controversial part of it, the Public Option, is strictly an insurance program. It doesn't end other private insurance and it doesn't mandate or restrict any test or treatment.

Do you think the bill has changed all that much from the one that has been online for MONTHS. Given the history of the Senate somehow I doubt that. But it will be posted before they vote.

Obama's health care bill is just an excuse for the IRS to really regulate us even more, also it will give unprecedented control, invasion of privacy, and erosion of our second amendment by our government. It is a way to slip socialism in the back door. Thats why when others came up with good ideas for health care reform, those ideas were swept under the rug. Think about it, money is taken now but health care doesn't kick in until 2019? That make sense to you?
