  • so what's the best tablet, yo?

  • @diantonovich Sorry mate, bad question. What's the best tablet for you? It all depends on what you want it to do...

  • I really like your vids keep up the good work! What would you recommend for a college student that just wants to take notes. I don't need all the other beels and whistles just something that takes notes AWESOMELY and wont break the bank.

  • @alaaaaaaaaan Asus EP121, Fujitsu Q550 or Motion CL900

  • @oztabletpc Wow those are all great choices and i specially like the Asus but thos prices seem so steep :(. Shame that there isn't a device out atm that focuses just on notes and does it well. You should keep an eye out on something called the noteslate noteslate.c o m...Seems like an interesting product. Thanks again for the help!

  • @alaaaaaaaaan Yes it's an interesting concept, although the advantages over good ol' pen and paper are probably not that strong. A bit too far on the simple side for my liking.

  • what battery are you using and how thick is the laptop?

  • i have this laptop for over a year now, but i can never figure out what is on the right hand side of the vga. Is it a slot for a s-video, because its in that shape.

  • @tonytranster Probably S-Video. It was marketed as a multi-media laptop at the time.

  • Tablet ou Not?!

  • hey lets all place some crap on a plate and pour syrup on it and call that Pancakes

  • @zellymusic Yeah, and let's call that art and see who buys it..! Just remember that this video is over 2 years old.

  • does it come with the stylus or do you have to buy one?

  • @zanyboy1423 When this system was around (nearly 2 years ago) it did come with the Active Digitizer Pen. It has long since been replaced with newer and better models...

  • @oztabletpc True, but there are users that are buying these new models and selling their old ones for low prices, so... :D

  • @elevul Good idea. I picked up 3 used HP 2730P tablets recently for my wife and kids for an absolute bargain! Way to go.

  • does it have MSN or can u download that?? and does is can have I am t-pain....? really wanna know...:D

  • @thekikker1996 It is a PC, so yes MSN is no problem. I am t-pain is an iPhone app, so no you can't do that one.

  • @oztabletpc thanks for the information;)

  • Lol is this your job advertising HP on youtube ?

  • @kaide1000 No, I sell Tablet PCs and HP happen to make some.

  • I got the laptop for Christmas of 09' and was very unhappy with it. I was under the impression that I would be able to use the multi-touch features to open the MediaSmart program. I tried, it never worked. Next, the thing I was unsatisfied with was the N-Trig system for the stylus. It has NO pressure sensitivity in anything except the "snipping tool" and Microsoft OneNote. I also had an issue with freezing. The computer no longer works at all and it "broke" right after the warrenty expired. BAD.

  • @XMyRealNameIsShineX Yes, personally I would avoid HP retail products, or any retail products for that matter. They are not built to last, and they become obsolete in months too.

The pressure sensitivity issue (in photoshop I presume) has long since been resolved though, and this was due to a driver compatibility argument between n-trig and Adobe.

The next model Tm2 had a Wacom tablet which worked much better with Photoshop...

  • @oztabletpc Yeah, I heard that. I was excited to hear it. I actually started saving up for it, however I found out that it had no flash drive. I was disappointed when I heard. So, actually, I just purchased a new laptop today. I went with Gateway.

  • @XMyRealNameIsShineX If only Gateway released an update for their M280 line. :'(

  • you could also update your BIOS. If all fails, simply go to the N-Trig site and download from there.

  • what people don't get is the refinement of the apple technology behind multi touch, all i keep seeing is other Microsoft and android touch devices and computers that are dopey and dull as soon as micro invest a bit more money in the tech then you will be fooled into buying something that's intermediate technology.

  • @maayaa77 What on earth are you talking about? This is a 2 year old obsolete product that you're comparing to Apple? You're way off track. Apple as newcomers to Tablets have much to learn to build a Tablet PC that is capable of more than flashy multi-touch nothings like pinch zoom.

  • @maayaa77 In fact, when I pick up my iPad, I'm constantly frustrated by the lack of multi-touch features like right click that I have on my Windows Tablet PCs. Of course being under the spell of Apple's NLP Hypnosis, you will probably tell me that the lack of anything productive is a magical wonder and is amazingly so much better.

  • @excalibur1814 Dude, I am a TabletPC reseller. l sell them all and own the store!

  • I have same machine which I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 ultimate. I can not activate the multitouch capabilities. I am not sure if I need a special driver or what.

    Help is much appreciated. Thanks

  • @Al7amdlellah Yes, go to the HP support page and make sure you have the latest N-Trig digitizer drivers installed.

  • @oztabletpc Unfortunately, the multitouch driver makes my computer mad with ghost clicks.

  • @kauemoura need to call HP on that one, sounds like a hardware fault.

  • Here is my big issue with this machine. I have an older pen only tablet; a toshiba m7. Dispite being 2 to 3 years older than this machine, IT KICKS ITS ASS AS FAR AS POWER GOES. I will never buy a machine that shares its ram with its video ram. For that reason, i call this a fail.

  • @JeremyMilne As far as power goes... it depends on what you do. For gaming and high and graphics work, a dedicated graphics card is essential. For everything else it's not. Hoverer, this machine has a dedicated ATI graphics card, so I think you're off the mark.

  • hows it handle photoshop CS5????

  • @triplerivera This Tablet PC is no longer current, and steer clear of it if you want to use photoshop. The HP TouchSmart Tx series along with the Dell Tablet PCs all use an N-Trig digitizer instead of the Wacom one that other Tablets use. Due to a licencing dispute this Tablet does not support pressure sensitivity in Photoshop. Look at the HP Touchsmart TM2 or any other Tablet PC with a Wacom Digitizer like Fujitsu or Motion Computing.

  • @oztabletpc dont talk about motion computing man.. its the fastest, the coolest, and the best tablet on earth right now..

  • @dikajenny One of my favourites right now! (comment handwritten on a motion J3500)

  • @oztabletpc everyone would say that once they have motion computing..lol

I have Ipad but i dont satisfied enough, would u like to suggest me which one the best? my budget is only $700

  • @dikajenny You would have to wait for some new products later in the year...

  • @oztabletpc Actually N-Trig made some drivers that allow you to get pressure sensitivity in photoshop and other apps that it didn't work on.

  • @Daxter609 That's good to know. A recent development?

  • @oztabletpc No it happened in June.

  • @Daxter609 ok, that's cool. Thanks for the update.

  • @triplerivera Of course it would run Photoshop even without the pressure sensitivity, but again the newer models will run it much better...

  • will i be able to intall an intel 7

  • To mush like an iPad

  • @julien6541 I see from your comments on other videos that you are an Apple fanboi. People like yourself are obviously smack bang in Apple's target market: I.e. not smart enough to figure out that this video is over a year old (I'll spell it out for you - it's been around way longer than iPad) and that the product shares little more than a touch screen in common with iPad.

Sorry to others for the rant, but trolls like this make me embarrased to own an ipad.

  • @oztabletpc Ok now I get it

  • @julien6541

funny cause this came out months before the ipad

  • Anybody wondering, get the newer HP Touch Smart TM2T, runs Windows 7, less, if not, non-existent lag. Definite iPad killer.

  • Haha, i used to want this model

But then i chekd his review for the tm2

It seems like he likes this, but he disses it like its his job in the tm2 review!

B4 u get this, research the tm2. This guys review is good, and so is the 3 or 4 part mobile tech reviews review

  • @iNSeRTCLeVRNaMeHeRe0 The Tx2 has been replaced by the Tm2. And yes, the new model is much better.

  • I just played with one. You prolly won't notice the lag, unless you have an iPad...

  • Wow I really want a tablet! They sound rally good. Im an author so i write alot of stuff and draw. ive seen a tablet on a movie - they aree awesome!

Just got a new netbook - EEEPC one just came out 5 days ago! :D Will recommend this vid to all viewers of Moocha234....

  • I want to have one!

  • is it good for sketching?Better than HP TM2? how long the battery is lasting for?

  • @halfmumi No, it is definately not better than the Tm2. Tm2 is the replacement model of this Tablet. Tm2 is far better all round and much better for sketching as it includes the Wacom Active Digitizer. Also check out the Fujitsu T4310 or T730.

  • @oztabletpc i will be buying it in next week. Do you know the market price between min-max?

  • @halfmumi What country are you buying in? Also, look for a supplier that understands and reccomends Tablet PCs, it will be worth more to you than a discount...

  • @oztabletpc Sydney Mate..I'm industrial designer.

  • @halfmumi oh ok. Will be in Sydney for Cebit this week. Leave an enquiry on our website and we can discuss...

  • OMG! Do we really sound like that!

  • @xXD1sc1pl3b0yXx Don't know about you, but I do...

  • I just got my Hp tx2500 off ebay, used of course but honestly as a person who want's to get into graphic arts like photoshop n shit, ITS AMAZING. No shit the build quality isn't fantastic but that's why u rn't paying $1500 for it either. If you want quality go for like a Fijitsu but they aint cheap. Im overall happy with my tx2500 :) $600 on ebay, worth every penny.

  • How much does it cost?

  • @Bigbbiker It's no longer avaialable. See the new HP TouchSmart Tm2

  • It sure is great that it can take more than one finger at a time, huh?

  • @TheHungryZebra Yes, this one could take up to 4 fingers.

  • @oztabletpc lol you don't say?

  • @oztabletpc this is just wrong !

  • @MegaManX8383 get your mind out of the gutter.

  • @oztabletpc hahaha

  • hey guys i wonna buy a tablet pc ..or generally i want a tablet so i can draw....any suggestions....i don want it to be very expensiveee but i need it to be really goood :/ plss helpp ???

  • @dance4ever956 Try Fujitsu T4310 or HP Tm2

  • @oztabletpc thanks

  • Hey, thank you for this review. Is it possible to make a short video of using HP Touchsmart TM2 outdoors? Some people out there says it is absolutely useless when trying to operate outdoors (because of the glossy screen)

  • @festivalnadrekou Yes, that is correct. If you are working outdoors a Tm2 is not for you. Glossy screens become like a mirror in sunlight or overcast conditions. You will also find that convertibles are generally not sturdy enough for outdoor / field use.

For field work, you should look at a rugged Tablet like the Motion Computing F5 or J3400.

  • well well, all the apple fans confuse me, if i'm not a designer, gamer, engeineer, and someone can protect my windows pc from virus and malwares...

and I like the handwriting thing to write lab notes, but also think the keyboard is necessary, what tablet do you recommend for me?

  • If you want a convertible Tablet PC like this one, the current recommendation would be the new Fujitsu T4310 or HP Tm2.

Both have multi-touch screens and Wacom active digitisers. Perfect for note-taking and powerful laptop replacements.

  • I just got one and am using it right now :)

  • omg microsoft and every company that support them are all over the place unlike apple they have one product that connects every one the same way and is just clean and simple

  • Lol! OMG! Aark!

One product that doesn't do much does not compare to hundreds of products that are made for all sorts of different jobs!

As for "connects" I think you'll find that it's not supported by apple. OMG!

  • @oztabletpc,you mean like the iPad?They're kind of similiar to the HP Tablet,HP is Tablets are going to be a lot better than the Apple iPad's!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I own one and it is hard core. I can play WOW or URU and it run well smooth. It comes with win7 and Fat CPU 4gb ram and ATI vision Proc.

  • I remember when I had one of the previous touchsmart laptops the fans were very loud and it was HOT HOT HOT

  • Yes, hot was pretty common on the Tx series... Noisy fan too. The new replacement of the Tx2 is the Tm2 and it has an Intel ULV Core 2 Duo processor and a Wacom Tablet / Capacitive touch screen.

No more heat and noise issues and double to triple the battery life too!

  • Too bad they didn't do that in the beginning, though. I went MacBook Pro right after the touchscreen just randomly stopped working

  • Yeah, the early Tx 1 series was very dissapointing. In a scramble to make a cheap tablet, they dropped the digitizer and quality in general.

The tx2 model came out with the N-trig digitizer, but the quality in general still wasn't there.

From our point of view, the Tx series gave Tablets a bad name. People bought them because they were cheap, but they tend to associate the poor experience with Tablets in general. There are far, far better Tablets avaialble, and HP now has one with Tm2.

  • cool, I'm glad they got their act together.

  • what the hell is BATA?

Did he mean Beta? And he is Aussie????

  • Yeah I'm Aussie and that's just the way I say! Tomayto, Tomaaato.

  • @NedKellt5580

    Trolling, much ?

  • very nice , is this the latest model ? and is there a newer one ?

i need to get me one of those tablets

    nice video mate

  • Haha, chill out mate, thanks for your hospitality. Tada.

BTW, I own a Touchsmart IQ500 PC and an iPhone. Nice review though,Respects.

  • Respect to you to. ;-)

  • hi was wondering if this is good to makes note on powerpoint slides? i want to edit ppt slide with hadnwriting when i am at univeristy, this is approproiate for that?

  • Awesome for powerpoint. Again, take a look at the Fujitsu T4310 or T900 for that application.

  • whats the battery life like?

  • 2 hours from standard battery...

  • Did he said 1 or 2 hours?WTF

  • Not great. Again, take a look at the Fujistu T4310. Better tablet, better performance, better battery life.

  • This looks unreliable, especially the touch aspect, doesn't even come close to Apple's touch technology.

  • It is the same technology... exactly. The difference is the software, but that is much better under Windows 7.

  • So the hardware in Apple's and HP's are exactly the same? both AMD processor?I find this hard to believe, Apple may be uses an Intel preocessor , maybe mind you.

  • Was referring to the touch screen technology.

  • So is the Tablet actually using Apple's Multitouch technology? really? huh, it's nice of Apple to allow them.

  • Right... so apple invented capacitive touch did they? Please, no more stupid comments. This tech was around way before apple licenced it.

  • Sorry, seems that I hit a nerve,oops.

As for commenting I am free to do so, at least I am not accusing you of posting "stupid" comments, right?

Once again sorry if I hurt your feelings.

  • Well acutally... I control this page and decide which comments stay and go. When people post irrelevant spam and rubbish here I delete it!

I am a bit tired of the apple world view that the fans seem to have - i.e. Steve Jobs invented everything!

Hey, I have an iPhone and wouldn't be without it. Great product. This video is about a Windows Tablet PC. How is that relevant to Apples tech? Hint: It's not!

I just ask that know what you're talking about before you dump your comment here.

  • @aghabeypasha multi-touch is a 30yr old technology, out of the University of Toronto. Apple was the first vendor to take it mainstream, but the technology has been there forever.. mostly in very large screens way before the iPhone, and even by the same Apple competitors (msft, or HP)

  • @oztabletpc

No it doesn't N-trig is the touch provider for the tx2, other HP tablets and the Dell Latitude XT, Xt2 and XT2 XFR not like the apple one

  • And your point is that ntrig don't make a capacitive touch screen?

  • i love windows but what i dont like about it is that it is too slow in respondin to you touch gestures, meanwhile apple is really fast.

idk. i like that tablet tho

  • Depends on the hardware and your settings really. New fujitsu T4310 with Windows 7 is very snappy with gestures.

This demo was shot before we had windows 7. Vista doesn't really have support for Multi-touch, so this was a function of the HP drivers. As such it is not really a good example of multi-touch on windows.

I'll be shooting a video of the Fujitsu T4310 multi-touch soon, so look out for that...

  • Thank you for reviewing this! My older brother wants one for Christmas and none of the stores had it available for testing to see how well they preformed. Good to know it's as good as the Apple iPhone's touch technology ;)

  • Hi Henhouse, also look at the Fujitsu T4310. Around the same price, but a bit more rounded in terms of design.

  • Someone who uses it can tell me if his performance is good?

  • Its pretty good but not the greatest.

Its by no means a gaming machine though. I bought mine just to draw digital art on it =)

Also it gets glitchy at rare times (touch sometimes crash and have to reboot) and a annoying "Usb device not recognized" pop up; aside from this its a okay laptop.

  • I'm going to post a video up of the Fujitsu T4310 very soon. It is around the same price, similar features with much better performance... Multi-touch wacom digitizer too.

  • I ONLY WANT ONE 4 TAT REASON 2 :)

  • Sorry to Swazil, I accidentally deleted your comment... Feel free to repost it...

  • Hi Swazil, Would you mind elaborating on the specific problems that you had? Pretty much all technology is subject to failure. We've had some warranty returns, but nothing out of the ordinary so far... although

  • does the touch pad have mt?

  • Not sure about the touch pad, the screen certainly is multi-touch! Perhaps someone else can answer that?

  • just try it in a photo galery

  • Sorry, don't have one here right now...

  • ok (-: i can find out a other way XD

  • It's a bit too much for me, the design is not simple. ok...... there's a remote inside it, too much. i like the idea of making the laptop touch, but i wish they made it neat.

  • I am a big fan of media center. The remote is a bit gimmicky but it does work well. The unit does look pretty good up close, but good luck finding one to look at!

BTW, It is now shipping with Windows 7 installed.

  • Hey I'm planning on getting the new TX2-1370us does it have the new hp mediasmart were you can do stuff like hulu and games like tu of words.

  • Hi Daxter609. I haven't tried any of those things, so I can't be sure. I would imagine the it can, but perhaps some owners might be able to comment on this?

  • Thanks 4 the video, i just bought the tx-2 1150es

    i´m learning

  • kilos... nice x)

  • a good review.thanks for the info.I'm planning to buy one sooner. But the price for tx2z in Australia is lot high compared to US. Waiting for the right time and offer.

  • it is pressure sensitive kinda, its not in the screen thats pressure sensitive the pen it self controls that, i tried it using in autodesk sketch book pro it worked, then i used my hand and it dint work, also it doesn't work that well with other programs, but luckily it seems like something that can be fixed through soft ware updates, or settings of individual programs

  • That's correct, I'm not aware of any touch screens that are pressure sensitive.

Active digitizers are pressure sensitive, and that means pen. Do your research and don't buy a Tablet PC from a regular computer shop or retailer, they usually wouldn't know a Tablet PC from their... well you get the picture. Go to a Tablet PC expert and get the facts!

  • Wat its 999.99$ and idk the screen is too small.

  • no im getting it for £ 347 haha im from englnd its cheep here

  • where did you find it at that price?

  • dont complaint! i paid 1100 Euros and it´s worth

  • 799.99 ftw!!!!

  • Im afraid that you should point the biggest con of this pc. It doesnt recognize pressure in design software!!! If you work with Corel Painter or Photoshop, you going to feel very depressed if you buy one of this, cause you going to need a external tablet anyway..

  • Im afraid that you should point the biggest con of this pc. It doesnt recognize pressure in design software!!! If you work with Corel Painter or Photoshop, you going to feel very depressed if you buy one of this, cause you going to need a external tablet anyway..

  • Xtro7, this pc is capable of pressure sensitivity, however there is an ongoing dispute between Adobe (Photoshop) and Ntrig (Maker of the digitiser screen) about which API to use to communicate the pressure sensitivity...

Hopefully they will resolve this and release some new drivers soon or adobe will add support for the N-trig... either way.

My .02: Don't buy a Tablet PC from a discounter. I would have told you straight up that it doesn't work with Photoshop!

  • (Not saying that you did xtro7, but we get this one all the time!)

If you want pressure sensitivity in photoshop, buy a Talbet with a Penabled Wacom digitiser screen and ask a Tablet PC expert first!

  • Hmm... I can handle the noise. Question is, is it worth it? Or should one wait for the next windows to come out?

  • If you buy it now, you'll get Windows 7 for free from the HP-website.

  • HEY! ^_^ need some advice on that tablet... hows the brush thickness support on that tablet... like when using a wacom tablet for like digital art?
