  • Very nice. Must've taken many hours to turn that blank into a usable knife. Not a project for beginners, I'm sure. The patina looks very cool too.

  • @TheLateBoyScout yeah, when i first did that knife it took a loong time. it was the frist knife i ever did like that. it was hell for an amateur like me. great learning curve though hehe. just watched you newest video on carbon v srk. its great knife. just came across one on forums for 90 bucks which is pretty cheap considering how rare they are. i probably should have get it. too late now :( thank you for stopping by TLBS

  • That looks really nice. I have used Birchwood Casey gun blue on a couple of my carbon v srk's.

  • @mesa401 thank you. I really want to get my hands in the gun blue stuff one day. Really want to give it a try.

  • that looks gorgeous!

  • @EXPENDABLE50 thank you. and also thank you for the sub. really appreciate it

  • @gavkoo no prob

  • Great job man on the customizing! I thought the first scales looked fine! But I understand having it the way you want it, I redo alot of projects when I'm not completely satisfied with the results. Looks great this way. I like this "redo" very much.

  • @ArmyStinger150 beckers are one of a very few knives that are pretty much perfect even without anything. but i like to make blades "mine" and especially the ones i really love. after meeting adn knowing mr becker, those knives will be my favorite forever i think...

  • @gavkoo It is a great knife, love the mods man!

  • @ArmyStinger150 omg i've just noticed that i was talking about the becker i've recently modded lol. i must have been half asleep when i replied to you the first time hehe. yeah man the first handle i made on this blade was really bad. it might have looked good but its was waaay too narrow and horrible to work with. and since im a user at first and then collector, i had to redo it. lol sorry again for the confusion :)

  • Watching the video again!

  • @ryanrrx hehe :D

  • almost looks like carbon steel ..cool gav :)

  • @ryanrrx hehe brother that is carbon steel. one of the best carbon steels. this is the original camillus made carbon V version of SRK. not the new "cheap shit" :D

  • @gavkoo wow thats awsome brother!!!! :)

  • Wow!!!! Im blown away! My Carbon V SRK is one of my prized posessions and I cant believe what you have done with yours! I want a blank now and try my hand at it! great job!

  • @MrNapalm138 Thank you. You better hurry because last blank i tried to get on ebay sold for freaking 45 bucks. And thats blank that is faaaar from a knife lol. But its a great project with great knife on the end of it...

  • man that's gorgeous! i'd kill for that!

  • @ChevelleZombie lol. thank you. just pls dont kill me for it :D hehe

  • @gavkoo NEVER i might just kidnap you put you in a basement and make you make me some sweet things!

  • @ChevelleZombie hehe lmao. thats a good one :)

  • That sure looks a lot better than the original knife, another job well done :) And i have to add, I think that is the best looking patina I have ever seen on a blade, if you do it on another blade it would be great if you could take the time to post a vid to show exactly how you do it, as i have never seen anyone make one that looks so nice.

  • @Nimaram82 thank you my friend. i will try to document it next time. i already tried it on my d2 steel blade and oddly enough it didnt work almost at all lol...

  • Love your custom work gavkoo, hope you keep at it.

  • @AussieMark909 thanks mark. i love your great reviews brother. keep em coming. cheers

  • You're right, it's not the original. It was made by you, so it's certainly worth more :)

  • @DemonHide hehe thanks brother, dont know if everybody would think so, especially collectors :)

  • looks good , man great job

  • @grizzlyglock1 Thanks man

  • @watchdog4life thanks brother :) haha at least this one has a name and isnt just another gavko special :D lmao i was laughing so hard on your video today. you guys brought a huge smile to my face. thank you WD

  • Very nice, You did a excellent job my friend. Keep up with the awesome reviews and video's....

  • @eatsmooth thank you. will try :)

  • That blade looks great to me.

  • @FateofDestinee Thanks for watching and stopping by D. hope all is well

  • DUDE!, you keep outdoing yourself, really great turn out, you got to do a vid with your process on how you make your stuff i would love to see something like that, even just a picture montage

  • @thomassmyth65 thanks thomas. you cant imagine how overwhelmed i am from all the nice comments and kind words. i definitely plan on doing some how to videos from making a custom scales to custom kydex sheath and forced patina. i learn myself from other videos and experiments on my own so its very nice to see that it actually works and looks good. thank you for watching and stopping by brother

  • Pattina is pucker. I like it

  • Great stuff

  • Dude i really like the way that patina turned out!!!!!! Nicely done man!!!! very nice knife, i like it!!! And dude sadly i hope be able to talk to you or Brian on skype for now. Maybe during the weekend, got a SHIT ton of work at school this week. But video wise no worries i got 2 videos already recorded :D, just need to upload them :).

  • @TheLazySpoiledKitty thanks dude. looking forward to it all. good luck in the school and everything else my friend

  • The blade is sick bro and the handle looks sick as well!

  • @TheCanadianKnifeGuru thanks bro

  • And that patina is great kind of looks like a damascus pattern.

  • Another beautiful knife! Have you ever thought about drilling a hole and pushing a hidden tang knife into a block of micarta instead of gluing two scales together? I know that works with wood...never seen it done with micarta though.

  • @LedZeppelin13k7 i've never actually saw a block of micarta. they alwasy sell them in sheeths with different thicknesses but the thickest one i came accross and actually am using is 0.312 i think...i think teh block would be best in case of the hidden tang...

  • @gavkoo True I've never seen a block either...though you can make your own micarta using blue jeans and fiberglass resin, "jeancarta" is what they call it. If you had enough layers you could make your own block...That sounds like an interesting project for this mora blade I have. I think I'm gonna try it. If it turns out ok I'll post it on e2e. But this SRK is great man, I'd love to have it myself if you ever wanna get rid of it you have my email. lol.

  • @LedZeppelin13k7 lol now that would be slick jeancarta. thats awesome idea. if i ever come across some resin i might just try that. im very happy with this srk how it turned out. the thing is that i would want to sell some of the work i did so i can get some funds for future projects but i dont want to sell them for super cheap just to get rid of it but i know that if i would ask what i would want for it, not many ppl would even consider buying it. need to balance it somehow.will see after pwyp

  • @Ziva4Freedom yep. if you have carbon steel without coating you just paint the patent on the steel and leave it for about an hour. just mustard or vinegar will do the trick.

  • @Ziva4Freedom thank you dear. i am actually already doing it on that custom i made from kabar fin. curious how that will come out. making a second layer already from mixture of mustard and vinegar lol. what a freak i am lmao

  • If you decide you want to start selling these, I will be your first customer for a knife like this. Looks amazing.

  • @windexfighter77 i sold couple of knives i made already and plan to sell more to get some funds towards future work but now im waiting to one event im attenting to have something i made to show but once i get back and people will want something i would love to pass it on for some fair price...

  • A very interesting pattern on that patina, I'm not too sure about the rust-resistance of vinegar created patinas though.

Done right, the finish Birchwood Casey Plum Browning gives is excellent at holding oil and preventing rust.

  • @sae1095hc well i think that patine unless its some well build intentional one wont really protect the steel so much. even thou ppl say it does protect it, its still a carbon steel under that very thin layer of patina so i think it will rust anyway if the isnt enough care for the knife. i never really had a rusting issues with my knives but i am kind of a knife freak so you can imagine i care for them a lot lol. i use rem oil and it works fine for me so far... thanks for watching and commenting

  • Very nice

    ~ TH

  • @TacticalHadoken Thanks TH. hope you are well and having a great weekend my friend

  • dude it looks really bad ass most likely its going to cost alot of money but man i want one really bad!!!!!!

  • @dezertkingz714 thanks man. didnt really think about the prices yet, need to see which blades i will still have after pwyp event and what prices to set so people woudl actually buy them as i know the actuall price of knives like this are pretty high for normal folks like myself and many others and i want to keep it real to spread my work out there so i have to balance it somehow. we'll see soon i guess :) thanks for watching and kind words buddy

  • @NRAshawn lol. thank buddy. like i said, in couple of weeks ill be most likely selling some blades to get funds for future projects so everybody will have a chance maybe to score something they like... take care adn thanks for watching and nice comments

  • wooooooooooooooooooooooooooahhhhhhhhhhhhh! i want one!!!

  • @TheNeedyCat lol. thank you. i want one as well :) i will be selling some knives in couple of weeks to get some funds for new projects so if you guys will be interested you can buy something soon. thanks for watching and nice comments guys. really appreciate it
