  • Experiencing this live is the most amazing thing ever, Michael McGlynn Is a amazing composer and I've had the honor to work under his tutelage. He was FAU's artist in residency this past fall semester. He will be returning to us for this spring semester as well. Will we be performing another concert with his music and under his guidance again on March 17. Try to look past how corny it is to have a concert with Irish music on St. Patrick's Day.

  • Wow

  • Is it possible to marry with a song?

  • This is so pretty, yet so creepy.

  • I'm a lobster!

  • So beautiful and soothing.

  • This song is really spiritual. Simple, yet magnificent. I love when all the voices blend toghether in the echo. T'is a wonderfull work af art.

  • i love absolutely everything about this song. when Anne died and i could hear this full of peace, hope song it rocked my heart as it showed what a relief was to Anne die, and not be more humiliated or broken-hearted (death of her friends)...

i don't know if i managed to express my feelings but i hope you know what i mean.

  • The All-State Womens Choir sang this song at this year's (2011) TMEA Convention (in San Antonio Texas) i just came back from the convention and i knew i had to listen to this song again!

it was beautiful:) it was exactly like this except the solo parts were sung by 8 people while the rest of the 400 and 90 something girls walked around doing the same thing these ladies did.

and it absolutely caught by breath! it was amazing!

  • The music from Anuna is always beautiful. Simply surperb.

  • 2 people shouted ENOUGH! and interrupted the song as it reached it's peak.

  • I heard this song on the 17th of December in Harderwijk. It was brilliant, so serene. It must be even better in a church with voices echoing!

  • Very good performance ...based on. .... Scots Gallic Hymnody??

  • @Lisnageeragh no.

  • @Lisnageeragh . This carol , is one of a group of carols known as "The Kilmore Carols" and sung at Christmas time in the parish church of Kilmore in Co.Wexford Ireland. They were originally written by Luke Wadding in 1698 . They were more widely sung in Wexford but are now confined to Kilmore where thaey have been sung for the last 200 years. They are always sung by 6 men one of who is traditionally from the Devereux family.

  • @Lisnageeragh I could be wrong but I believe this is a 16th century English hymn.

  • @FlowerChild65 Thank you for comment ....

  • Any relation between this and the "Jerusalem" used as one of the English anthems? (Thanks to the Barmy Army I cannot get it out of my head)

  • I just came back from a Xmas performance at Redlands, CA where this piece was used as the Introit...it was done for SATB, mixed voices, and the men's voices were used as a drone...the men made a very reedy sound..very haunting...they didn't do the round in the chorus except at the end so it sounded cleaner than most recordings I've heard of this...Very nice piece with mixed voices as well as just women...there are five verses in this piece; this recording leaves out the last two...

  • @luxaurum I saw that same performance, i went on sunday. My Fiance was in the Madrigal chior that sang this song.

  • this made me cry hearing it on The Tudors.this is truly great.

  • I somewhat wonder why it's all old people in the audience. I'm very young and I grew up on this music because I stole this exact album from Strawberries in Westport, Connecticut. I placed the CD in my groin with the material and left the cd case in my bag. They checked my bag and only found an empty CD case. I never regretted that.

  • Beautiful. Their albums are hard to find. Please buy them. The composers I've spoke with personally. I'm not one to believe in religion, but the music, the music is just so beautiful. I've lived on this when I was developing.

  • Just Curious,,, What would it cost to have this performed at my wedding? I live in the US.

  • @tristin67891 Not too sure if Anúna would do weddings, or travel overseas at all. They have a website, perhaps you could contact them and ask them from there.

  • @tristin67891 this is more of a funeral song, but their other songs would sound beautiful at a wedding!

  • This music is absolutely wonderful.

  • I love this song! first heard it in the tudors and i can listen to it over and over so beautiful!

  • the best!!!!! this song gave me goosebumps...

  • Absolutely brilliant.

  • Such beauty can only come from the Irish! ^^

  • @gOtHiCxAnGeLxox well, no - but thank you for the comment anyway.

  • I had the privilege of seeing Anuna perform this song at Orchestra Hall, in Minneapolis. Between being surrounded by those voices, and the incredible accoustics of that venue, I was honestly overwhelmed. This is the single most moving piece of music I've ever heard. They used no microphones, and completely filled the place with the voices of angels. This video is great, but doesn't come anywhere near to doing the real thing justice.

  • fu..fucking epic..

  • my ensamble sang this for our choir concert! Thanks for posting!

  • this song contains salvations...

  • @Prissi20 salivations - not sure about the noun tho'.

  • @brezairola umm, sorry to correct you,but salivations and salvations are two very different things.

salivations - the production of saliva.

salvations - the same as redemption.

  • JUST AMAZING!

I first hear that in the Tudors season 2 as the soundtrack of the scene Anne's execution and I want to find more about who is singing...Here it's sound excellent with a very good acoustic. What is the location?

  • It's a shame they didn't put this on the Tudors soundtrack. It really takes your breath away. <3

  • Божественно!! (Divinely)

  • first hear it in the Tudor, and now I found it!!

  • This song is my favourite of Anuna! So beautiful!!! from The Tudors =) ( my favourite series) 5 stars, amazing!

  • i got to hear this live, in newfoundland.

    breathtaking.

  • finally, i found the song!!thank you so much for upload..

  • Splendid the canon effect!

  • very nice:)

  • THANK you very much.

  • That's just awesome, that is!

  • Haunting. Stunning. Amazing. No other words to describe the pure beauty of the voices in this song. I have tears in my eyes and can only say one thing. I am in love with Anuna!

  • they are in Trinity Church......

  • Hey, why is everyone holding a lit candle in this video?

  • i think it has something to do with the holiness of the song.

  • The venue was very dark.

  • Just splendid!

This is my favourite of Anuna.

For the choral music's lovers, there's, also, a Romanian choir: Madrigal.

  • iTunes? I assume you mean legally : )

  • I heard them perform this live in the Netherlands...superb. I thought they explained it comes from an Scottish isle...the way they sing this....

  • oh god :) the chorus ... if only EVERYTHING sounded this beautiful

  • Saw them perform this at Bass Hall in Fort Worth in 2007...amazing!

  • I knew it's Irish, I KNEW it! Heard it on The Tudors and totally fell in love with the song.

  • @smoothhoney1265 What episode was it?I knew I knew it from somewhere but just couldn't recall till I saw your message

  • @jaymerycroft Season 2 Episode 10

  • @smoothhoney1265

Oh yes of course! I was watching the Tudors and the song sounded familiair. And it was Anuna all the time :)

  • I love this song

  • WOW!!! Michael, what did you made with the sound? :)
