Youtube works like any other business. It's the ones that can bring profit to the table that gets all the attention. The underdog has to work it's way up or get ignored. ( Despite the fact- the underdog is what most likely helped the higher ups stay where they are.) If the ppl that never got featured decided to leave youtube ...the entire platform would crash. I guesss everyone needs one another to make this thing actually work.

If you don't like it, then don't use Youtube. That or don't watch those particular videos. If other people want to get more views, make better videos. How did mrchicity get so many views with his new video? He made something people were interested in.

They have that many views because they have a ton of subscribers. When users log into Youtube, videos they are subscirbed to show up on the front page. Do the math.

Fred got popular because his videos were different, not necessarily good, but different. That was enough to get him a ton of subscribers. That's how you get a lot of instant views. Most of the "top" people got big off of one or two videos that took off. From there, it was just views from subscribers and being on most popular page.
