The only time I've seen something out of the ordinary was when I was waiting Johannesburg to board a Qantas jet home to Australia and for some reason the security people wanted to look into EVERYONES cabin luggage again even AFTER already going through the normal security procedures.

I was led into the TSA patdown room, the TSA woman who came in to had me fully undress. What baton? TSA officers are not issued or allowed to carry any type of weapon. The only one's in the airport that are allowed to carry weapons are the Law Enforcement Officers assigned to the airports, usually local police departments or county sheriff department.

While I especially dislike the scanners, I'd rather my living body be seen, then my remains examined after a crash which could have been prevented by screening.

What baton? TSA officers are not issued or allowed to carry any type of weapon. The only one's in the airport that are allowed to carry weapons are the Law Enforcement Officers assigned to the airports, usually local police departments or county sheriff department.

@407buddy -for some the choice to not fly simply is not an option. I work on two sides of the world and flying is a necessity. I may not like the rules, but I must submit to them in order to travel. While I especially dislike the scanners, I'd rather my living body be seen, then my remains examined after a crash which could have been prevented by screening.

Look at all these uneducated jokers posting comments like "the government is looking at your kids nude" and others. Speaking from the group of folks I work with, we don't care how you look, where you're going, or what you ate for lunch. All we care about is getting you on a flight in a timely fashion. You judge a few bad apples as a whole and I have news for you. There's bad employees in every company worldwide.

@Zalen11 You are exactly right. And given your take on this, then we should NOT have bombed Germany. After all, there were plenty of good people "just doing their jobs and living their lives." Ooops did I just get listed? Ever hear of the 4th Amendment? Ever served in the U.S. military or real law enforcement. I don't know what kinda oath you folks take, but it obviously doesn't include loyalty to this great nations founding principals as set forth in our founding documents.
