@updeshify sorry to break it to you, but it isn't.

I have used snivy, and it and it's evos are more for defending and sp. defending, it cant take hit's too well, and it lacks in power. Samurott can take a few hits, plus it has a GREAT attack stat, perfect for beating serperiors with one megahorn (super effective)

@Zarthga Actually you are wrong on Samurott's usage . It has good Special Attack, but its movepool is about 70% Physical Attack, and of that, maybe 6 moves are desirable. And its only counter-type moves are Ice Beam, Blizzard, and Dig, two of which are a given, and its lack of Earthquake makes it a discernibly unfavorable choice to combat Electric-types. Continued..

@startmirca Also Hp helps Samurotts SP defence kinda, because you get more hit points when you have high HP and that kinda "increase" your defences or well your survivability

Continued ... Samurott has a horrible Sp.def but decent Def , but worser than Serperior's , If anything , Samurott is the frailest Unova starter with Serperior being the bulkiest while Emboar is in between . Samurott's horrible speed makes it very likely to lose against Serperior(who can take down Samurott with a Leaf Storm) while Samurott is too slow to attack it , it doesn't even have a speed raising move , Emboar gets Flame Charge , Serperior doesn't need one since it already has good speed..

@Zarthga What Serperior lacks in offensive moveset , it has Coil to raise it's Atk/Def/Acc. , it still has the stats to live , unlike Samurott that is outspeed and defeated , not to mention it's stats are terrible to boot(except for Sp.atk which fails to take advantage of because it doesn't have enough good special moves) , so Samurott not only has the lowest stats of all Unova starters but the weakest of all Water-starters as well.

@startmirca Attack isnt everything. Its meant to take hits and attack first and give small packages with damage.

They are all good starter Pokemon, who cares if the Stats are abit lower than usual, Samurott can if used right beat Empoleon because it can learn Revenge and boost it with Swords Dance. No starter Pokemon are bad, only uniqe :D

When i got black, it asked me for a starter pokemon and it gave me 3 choices: Tepoig, Oshawott, and Snivy....I hate water types (Oshawott) I don't like fire (Tepig) But i love grass.....(Snivy.) I made my Snivy to it's full evoulvtion, A Serperior! Hope Ya'll can get Pokemon white Version Or Black. ALL starters are cool. Tepig has all-around stats, kinda ugly; Oshawott (my choice) Has high hp and attack, pretty cute :); Snivy is intelligent, it has high defense and speed, not ugly, not cute. But hey, my opinions. Snivy and oshawott are both cool, so snivy+oshawott=mutated thing thats awesome.
