Although the writer of the song has freedom over their age or any other attributes, Len and Rin's age is officially 14. Plus, VOCALOID stands for Vocal Android, as androids do not age. Although I completely agree with you, the writer of the song has complete control over their age. I'm just saying no matter how many birthday's pass, it isn't officially that they will age like humans. Since VOCALOIDs are supposed to be robots afterall.
