Harrison FORD said his favorite was To Kill A Mockingbird which is mine too. He said what I felt after leaving the movie theatre it made me think "TOLERANCE" which is something people don't have these days .. It was and still is my favorite of all movies.
@MrRazorblade999 lol that's hilarious...... Must be why he flooded us with all of those blockbuster movies...... because he's boring. I bet if Harrison read this comment, he would laugh with the billions in his bank :)
@MrRazorblade999 uhhh yeah, well...... everyone else knows better. :) I'm not wasting anymore of my time on some kid who likes cartoons, with him trying to tell me about acting talents in Hollywood. lol
My favorite, for the same reasons, is, "Amazing Grace and Chuck." Hardly known but brilliant. People doing the right thing through massive odds. In TKAMB, justice wasn't served. In mine it is.
"I think if I had to pick just one film, um, to which I had a very...strong reaction, and can remember vividly...how I felt...it would be...um....The Zookeeper."
You can tell it's a really heartfelt choice for him. What if he'd chosen something really awful?
"I think if I had to pick just one film, um, to which I had a very...strong reaction, and can remember vividly...how I felt...it would be...um...Garbage Pale Kids."
I love harrison ford! i have had three dreams with harrison in them. at camp i told everyone how obsessed i was with him and now they know me as the girl who's obsessed with harrison ford.
@SoloOnTheRocks99 Yeah i'm the same way, i LOVE him and everyone says he's way too old for me... but i liked him as Indiana Jones, not so much now....
@TheSololobo Then why are watching to see what Harrison Ford's favorite movie is when he grew up in the 50's and 60's. In 50 years people like you are now will hate the movies you like because they're "old". HOW ARE OLD MOVIES BAD?
@connerspencern their dialogue is over rehearsed, they're overly dramatic, the musicals are fucking ridiculous. It wasn't until James Dean and Marlon Brandon came along that they started acting natural. Sorba the Greek is a good movie though.
@connerspencern A friend of mine thinks the movies i try to get him to watch are "Way to old" films like Goodfellas, Point Break, Platoon, Alien/Aliens Dirty Harry, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly and he's like "Nah they're to old, I can't be bothered with them!" I give up on him. i'm like "They're in fuckin colur yeh know!!"
Oh dear, not the most original of answers, I bet he'd like to have Jesus, Gandhi, Marilyn Monroe, Einstein, Hitler, John Lennon, Mother Teresa and Orson Welles at his fantasy dinner party too...nought out of ten for imagination Mr Ford!
Obviously 'To Kill a Mockingbird' is a wonderful morality tale etc. but what a predictable and 'safe' choice which I suppose someone as bland as Mr Harrison would have made, I just wish he'd used his imagination before answering the question.
The Shawshank Redemption does it for me.....i still remember the scene of the escape, and the payroll acceptance speech of Morgan Freeman.....in fact the last 30 mins of that movie was just a masterpiece in itself....a movie that tell you the importance of hope....is quite something.
@Bluedeanie No, I saw it. But after undergoing an extensive regimen of waterboarding and grief counseling, I no longer remember it. Just like my ex-fiancee. Curse you George Lucas!
Damn I have soooo many favorites but unfortunately To Kill a Mockingbird isn't one of them. Don't get me wrong I really liked that film its just not one of my favorites.
It's funny how quiet and reserved Harrison Ford the man is, at least in interviews, compared to how brash and over-confident he usually appears in his movies.
ford is such an underrated actor. how did he not get an academy award nomination for the fugitive? i mean hanks is a great actor, but that year, i wouldve given it to ford
@inrwizards Yes he is an underrated actor, but unfortuneately there are a lot of those in Hollywood. But I actually just watch the movie Hanks one for that year, Philadelphia, and he was AMAZING! Ford was great in the Fugitive, but Hanks's oscar was well deserved, but Ford should have been at least nominated!
@RomanSedlak i'd rather pay 20 bucks to see an 80 year old indiana jones than pay 10 to see any of the new garbage they spout out these days with hot young vixens and hot young studs who are supposed to be cool and who we are supposed to take seriously... all without a good story to back em up...
ahh, perfect camera work on this interview. the layers in light and the slight soft focus are so appropriate for HF:) its as if he radiates brilliance which he does!
Cor, jhebush Chrishte, for a second before he said what the film was for some reason I just thought he might say To Kill A Mockingbird. God knows why. Maybe that I just played the theme tune to it and Gregory Peck's Oscar acceptance speech just before I clicked onto this. But man! The coincidence of me guessing the movie right, even though a split second before Ford said it I might have thought 'no maybe not'? Man, my brain explodes. It MEANS something??! Does this MEAN something?
To Kill a Mockingbird. Also my all time greatest movie. I can't count how many times I've watched it along with Robert Mitchum in The Night of The Hunter, Betty Davies, What ever Happened to Baby Jane, Sidney Poitier in "In the heat of The Night" Charlton Heston in Ben Hur, Kirk Douglas in The Viking ...the list is a long one. Great Movies, great actors. What legends.
I agree with citizenhal. There are so many films I love to watch over and over but for different reasons. My favorites include Aladdin, Indiana Jones, Batman, Batman Returns, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Loaded Weapon, Ghostbusters, Hairspray...but are any of these the greatest film of all times? no but they are entertaining and for different reasons.
Why are you trying to converse with a movie clip?. The book was published in 1960 and film was released in 1962. I'm pretty sure Harrison Ford knows it is (present tense) a book as well.
good answer. To Kill A Mockingbird Is Amazing! I remember watching it in Junior High and usually movies we watched in school I would sleep through lol but that one sucked me in. I am 20 now and still love it!
There is no such thing as the greatest movie ever because there are so many movies and so many opinions. But The Godfather or Citizen kane are sometime considered the greatest by critics.
@citizenhal Personally that's what I would consider to be the "greatest."
I wouldn't call Star Wars the 'best' film ever (though it strongly serves the ultimate purpose of the majority of movies: to entertain), but just on account of how incredibly massive Star Wars and the whole franchise it spawned has become, I would call it the greatest film ever.
Of course, I wouldn't argue if somebody called The Godfather or Citizen Kane the greatest, but I believe Star Wars to be greater.
@morbidchild He's always been a very shy person, he doesn't really like interviews when he has to be himself, and as such you rarely see him promoting movies, and when he does you'll see his quirks come out like stroking the chair and speaking very low because he's very nervous.
You sure about that? I've heard a lot of rumors about him coking it up in the late 80's.
He became really gruff in both acting and talking in the 90's. Maybe it was just a sign of getting older? Either way, he was one of the actors that in my opinion did not have a good time when age came knocking at the door.
It would be so cool, if that were your favourite movie, to see the character you played(Indy) be ranked second only to the hero of that film(Atticus) on the AFI 100 Greatest Movie Heroes list.
However Sir Alec Guiness had a great way to deal with them. Even though Alex Guiness was an Oscar winning actor who appeared in plenty of classics the Star Wars fans didn't watch those at all, to them he was just Obi-Wan. So when Alec Guiness met a Star Wars fan he asked the fan if he could promise him something and the fan said:"I'll promise Obi-Wan anything.". He then said:"Promise me you want see Star Wars ever again."

You sure about that? I've heard a lot of rumors about him coking it up in the late 80's.
He became really gruff in both acting and talking in the 90's. Maybe it was just a sign of getting older? Either way, he was one of the actors that in my opinion did not have a good time when age came knocking at the door.

Yeah, I had an autograph signed by him, and you could tell he was really nervous just doing that.

Ford's my favorite actor. Besides Indiana Jones and Star Wars, my favorite movie is The Fugitive

It would be so cool, if that were your favourite movie, to see the character you played(Indy) be ranked second only to the hero of that film(Atticus) on the AFI 100 Greatest Movie Heroes list.

Amen.
Simply great.
