Hi, I have put some videos up to help people play the Wohlfahrt etudes in tune. If anyone thinks they are useful I will put the rest of them up, they really helped me with my intonation. Thanks
I couldnt help myself but watch the section of you playing (from 3.27+) over and over. I wanted to catch you out on your bowing but I couldnt! You flawlessly play in that middle lane.
May I put in a request that when you play something you stand back from the camera slightly so we can see your full bow arm and wrist? It would be a very helpful learning tool.
i think he means there's a skip in the notes as it is written in the piece.
like C-D-E-F-G versus C-D-E-G-A. the second one skipped the F which can be considered a "trap" (as professorV calls it) because you've become accustomed to the non-skipping parts and will have a tendency to miss the skipped note.
i love your videos.. I am a violin teacher for beginners but english is my second language. I can understand everything that you say and I like to improve how to communicate with my students. Thank you for all the hints.
I just saw these today, after pulling out my old beat up violins that I was given-I mostly play guitar and am learning banjo. I have never found a more comprehensive resource for learning an instrument. I thank you SO MUCH for putting this out there, as it is extremely helpful! I feel like I'll be able to watch these over and over and help myself improve since I'm "self" teaching. Well, now I'm "self" teaching with assistance!! So thanks again!!

How do you know when to skip a note?

Thanks ProfV for sharing this!
The Bach interpretation sounds beautiful.
I love Wohlfahrt's etudes particularly the third one. These set of etudes does not only sharpen playing skills but also delightful to play.
