Looks to me like it's just some dirt on the film. These clips probably got played every night the drive-in was open, so they would get pretty torn up after awhile!
I dunno about you , after I read your comment I started concentrating for attempts at subliminal advertising , like little flash frames and things like that. But it was just a bit of dirt on the film after all hahaha!
Eww, you're right. It DOES look like a dead bug! Did the projectionist use that film reel to kill a bug that got in the projection booth or something?
This was Coke's contribution to "intermission time" in the late '50s- they produced this spot. If your refreshment stand doesn't have it, LET 'EM KNOW!!!
That would definitely explain it. The way the characters are designed, the way "REFRESHMENT TIME" pops up, and the use of the Capitol Hi-Q stock music shows this could've been one of Art Clokey's creations.
This was seen in an episode of Pee-Wee's Playhouse.

@iamsmert123
Some do. I've only gotten one once. Too difficult in the dark.

What the heck is that thing that appears for a split second at 0:09? I paused it and still can't figure out what that bizarre thing is.

This reminds me of Gumby
wiley207 4 years ago
It was probably made by Art Clokey, creator of Gumby. Some of his first stop-motion films were Coke ads.
