However, this scene is played with a staggering lack of emotion, particularly on the part of the actor playing Biff. This is the pivotal moment where Biff confronts Willy on the fraudulent nature of his dream; Biff is torn apart and Willy is broken and defeated. Your Willy was simply yelling, and fast at that. The whole scene just seems drained of emotion, when it should be thick with it. It should tear your heart out, but this doesn't tug a string.
Our director was shooting for more of a "shock and awe" kind of performance as opposed to a heartfelt one. However, some people have told me that based on my performance in the rest of the play, they actually started to feel bad for Willy and could understand why he basically feels pissed at the end. And yes, I was pretty fast, but I was aiming to be mad and flustered. But nonetheless, thank you very much.
This act or the book shows the real fact of life .. good work

I was Ben in my schools production of the play and I can say that Ben misses almost all of his lines here.
He also looks like he should be leading an expidition to find the congo

Ah, I see... it makes a great deal of sense then. Definitely not the direction I'd take it in, LOL.
As I said before, my kudos for even playing him. I know he is a tough character. I absolutely love Death of a Salesman; it is my favorite play.
