  • Who knew that the Knights who say "Ni!" got their own feature film? Great music, though!! I would love to see the whole thing.

  • @zombywoof92 Exactly what I was thinking when I first saw this. :-D

  • Great use of Wainsaht if you ask me

  • You know what, let's not be too hard on this section, because the use of Orff's music by Basil Poledouris in the opening scenes of the 1st Conan film, which this predates, would seem to owe a bit to this guy's vison....no?

  • the only way to get the Wagnerian trip without the nasty anti-semitism is to sidestep the old bastard and pick up on say Mahler... and MAGMA !

  • C'est filmé par un gosse?

Si non, c'est le pire film de l'Histoire du cinema, avec en fond sonore la meilleure musique de toute l'Histoire de la musique (bon, à part le Sacre du Printemps, bien sûr).

  • thank you for this unbeliverable document :)

  • I thought it could have used more tracking shots...

  • Honestly I don't find this movie so horrible. Sure it's very low budget, but the music marries very the scene itself. And the location is beautifu, and since I like old movies the quality doesn't bother me much.

  • the ending has music that isn't in magma album? :O

  • Yes, the film music was taken from Magma's studio work in preparation for Wurdah Itah, not the actual final piece. So it has lots of bits that didn't make the album, and this mix is very rough. The ending section here is actually from the early part of WI though, just a bit harsher than what we usually hear.

  • The movie is unbearable. The music is great, though (at least, it's a good prelude to what came in the finished work).

  • Thanks for your posting!

    Finally I could see!

  • Well, justice is served. This waste of celluloid is forever remembered only for its great music. Magma unfinished is still better than Lagrange completed! ;)

One question: why on earth (or Kobaia) does not Christian Vander repackage this album so it no longer mentions "Tristan et Yseult"? Was there a binding contract or something?

  • La musique grandiose offre un contraste brutal avec les guerriers de carnaval cataclopant épée en carton à la main !

  • OMG too funny! I just read an interview with Klaus Blasquiz in 1977. The interviewer mentions this project, and Klaus says "Don't talk about that... It's a fucking bad film. But the music is superb I must admit it. Maybe it's the best album by Magma."

    LOL!!

  • The music fits the riding scene perfectly. As a movie this is pathetic, but as background to Magma the riders and scene aren't bad. The director should have tried to produce a film for Magma instead of having them work on his dumb project. Hiring Magma to work on this movie is like having Michelangelo whitewash a lawn fence.

  • This was somebody's student production, right? :-)

  • unfortunately...no!

this crappy Unidentified Film Object should have been released in regular theaters !!

    aaaaaah,seventies...

  • Actually, it's the visual equivalent of some of the LSD-trip-influenced music (think Jefferson Airplane) of the mid to late 60's in which they simply went into the studio and performed whatever they liked. Sometimes cool stuff resulted, and sometimes trash, but nobody cared!

This was definitely trash. I wish I could go back in time and tell Monsieur LaGrange to stop licking so many stamps...and also, to wait until Vander is finished with the album before using it!

  • @JeffersonLeeEng oh go & watch inception or some other shit like that

  • @JeffersonLeeEng oh go & watch inception or some other shit like that and stop complaining

  • I think you'll find these rather unconvincing horned riders are the original Knights that say "NI". Shrubbery anyone?

PS: Great stuff from Vander and the lads in spite of this.

  • uts fur kalain, himeuhn ZËBËHN deh reustiin!

  • Wow! Thanks! I've been wanting to see this for over 20 years!!

  • The music is very different from what is on Wurdah Itah. More istruments, I think. It's great. I would watch the whole movie for the music only. The movie is shit, btw.

  • you're welcome!

i will post more scenes in a few days...

and i will post "Offering"rare footage too.

  • WOW... dunno what else to say. So that makes these 4 minutes even more valuable. Thanks for posting it!

  • Amazing, that's something I really never expected to see. Is this movie available anywhere? Was it ever even released?

  • no release in video or dvd,the movie have been released only in a few theatres in 74

  • my favorite Magma album ( although it's not mentioned Magma on cover LP )Is there a possible live video from this work ?

  • luudnoma, if you get the "Theusz Hamtaahk Trilogie au Trianon," you can see all of Theusz Hamtaahk, Wurdah Itah -and- Mekanik Destruktiw Kommandoh performed live. C'est formidable!

  • Very nice, Berthy. Thanks!!!
