Where's he catching the leg? Behind the knee? Lower on the calf or ankle? Is he pulling the leg forwards or pushing it sideways? More info would be great.
This is a technique that I first encountered from Ticky Donovan - coach to Wayne Otto and the British team, nearly 20 years ago. It is a sweep from behind the ankle or just above and pulls forward and upward towards your hips in the diection that the opponent's foot is facing. Sensei Donovan taught to catch the hand of the opponent so that you could pull the opponent towards you as they fell to get in the scoring punch with the opposite hand. Sensei Otto executes this technique like no other!
I'm really missing my martial arts, and looking through some old photos, thought i'd see if there was any videos on here of wayne.. hehe, this brings back memorys!! You should be proud of this moment hehe :D

@Plimp73 he is just hooking his foot just above the ankle
the sweeping it forward then finishing it off with a gakazuki (punch to waist)

I did some quite educational classes with Wayne Otto in Austria. He is a very agile fighter with a good technique and a pleasant person.

I wish it weren't blurry and there weren't people blocking the view, because it's an interesting technique.
