I think that Pokemon Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow used the same sound engine as this (except that Yellow went a bit more advanced and added in voice clips.)

Listening at the music you chose, it's easy to see how the composer of this game was also involved with pokémon!

This game was released in 1991.

Game Freak was also working on Pulseman, which was released only in Japan in 1994.

Pulseman was released on the Virtual Console recently.

Yeah it's awesome, It's on the american virtual console for the wii, It's just called Yoshi in the US. But the game that rules is Yoshi's Cookie for the SNES

I played the NES version of that. It was nice also though I had to figure out how to play it :P
