  • thats a shitty amp to test a strat thru...try a peavey 6505+ and then see who likes some gain.

thumbs up if this kid didnt make a fair video playin thru an amp that has the quality of a first act amp.

  • @GabrielTheGuitarist Easy bro I had spent all of my money on the V, the Strat is my dad's, I had no money for a tube amp. And I was fucking 15 years old. I now have two tube Marshalls. But the amps's tone was not the purpose of the video to begin with. And asking for thumbs up is pathetic.

  • @JTstratman13 just becuz u CAN make a "demo" doesnt mean you SHOULD. u can be 51 years old for all i care. u were trying to show which tones are made thru the guitars. i get that. but if ur gonna try that. u better have an amp to back it up. i have a 1982 Fender Strat that would but my Jackson Rhoads V JS32 WITH EMG's to shame becuz Peavey (btw kills marshall) amp can handle tones better then just a bunch of bees in a can like marshall.

  • @GabrielTheGuitarist Again, I was 15 and wanted a crapload of videos, but I get what you're saying. It just wasn't possible to use a better amp at the time. And I don't use this anymore because it doesn't sound great and I have (get this) 2 tube Marshalls. I personally don't care for Peaveys that much but everyone has their preference.

  • I very like your amp... What is this and do you think about it?

    [SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH]

  • @DarkNunzio97 It's good for a solid-state, though a little pricey. But I think tube amps are the way to go.

  • @JTstratman13 I raccomanded to you the Epiphone Blues Custom... It sounds great.

But it is too big for me...

  • @DarkNunzio97 I meant to say the micro stack is pricey for a 15 watt solid-state. I already have a Marshall JCM 900 and a Marshall Haze 40.

  • if you know how to setup an amp OD wise, with a strat if you use a low od setting.. you can hear the strings ring out and get a crunch f you do it right. also with humbuckers for those who dont study guitars... theres more input and gain on a humbucker because there are two pickups... with strats theres a low imput on singles which give it a twangy tone, and gibsons a very tight tone :)

  • You compare totally different guitars, they have different destinations, it's like what you compare your ass with a finger

  • the strat has the thinnest tone ever and sounds really bad with the bridge pick up

  • god dammit i wanna cry watching this, will you put a damn smile on your face please

  • @corpralkirsch Haha sorry I was concentrating. Whenever I film myself I focus really hard so I don't mess up.

  • @JTstratman13 haha its cool i was just messin around, hows that micro stack i think i might get one, is it worth the 300, or should i just get a crate or something

  • @corpralkirsch I like the sound of it, but I'd recommend you get a bigger MG combo for a little more than $300 that has a footswitch and more channel versatility. Sure the micro stack is cool, but for it's price you could get more features with another amp. But if you can afford a tube amp I'd say go for it. Marshall MGs cannot compare with tube Marshalls.

  • You cannot compare these two guitars. Gibsons are renowned for their vintage rock tones, while Strats have an amazing clean or lightly distorted sound. If you put a humbucker in the strat, then maybe you could start to compare these two, but other than that they are both amazing guitars at what they are meant for.

  • flying v alwayz win

  • i LOVE all Gibson guitars but in this case i would choose the Fender Strat.

  • Like both of them, but My favorite of the two is the Stratocaster.

  • GIBSON AND EPIPHONE WILL FOREVER BE THE BEST

    ~~LONG LIVE FLYING Vs!!!!!!!

  • I love Strats but I would go with the V in this case.

  • I say the gibson is better

  • Clean: Fender

    Overdrive: Gibson

  • @aerztefanmatthi

A certain Jimi Hendrix thought otherwise.

  • the fender would be better if your used the neck pickup , i always find that the bridge is to trebly unless u are using a vintage fuzz

  • Put A Humbucker In The Bridge On The Strat And The Flying V Wouldn't Stand A Chance!!!

  • stratocaster all the way

  • It really depends what kind of music u want to play. Pick the fender if your going to play like blues, classic rock and those kinda clean sounds. Gibson is more heavy class and works better with distortion

  • dude it all depends on the pick ups even if you get a cheap 400$ guitar if you put hot active EMG pick ups in it ......that things gonna BE HOT!

  • gibson. no doubt man :L

  • @VinylUndergr0und It sounds like there would be less resistance, because the V is bright, especially on the neck pickup. So I guess it might be .22.

  • @VinylUndergr0und Honestly, I don't even know what cap value is...

  • Gibson Flying V Is Better!!! (You Should Have Used Alot More Gain And Distortion To Really Show Off The V's Balls!!!)

  • @DylanBStringer91 The micro stack doesn't sound too good with a lot of gain, but I've installed a Gibson Dirty Finger pickup to give it extra balls!

  • @JTstratman13 Why Would You Take The Best Pickup Out And Put Some other Pickup In??? Gibson 500T Pickups Are The Best!!!

  • @DylanBStringer91 Yeah but the Dirty Fingers is even hotter than the 500T.

  • i have both. fender 62 resissue strat and a les paul studio.. fact is the gibsons humbuckers have way more output. hence louder thicker tone. but fender clean single coils deliver amazing, expressive blues filled with subtle character. you just have to crank the amp a little.

dont let the video fool you. go listen to some hendrix and you'll hear monster fat tone comeing from that strats single coils.

  • Gibson Flying V Is Way Better Than Fender Stratocaster!!! People Than Say Fender Is Better Than Gibson Are Idiots!!!

  • I like both. Good work kid!

  • strat is to bright for my taste

  • Gibson

  • definitely the flying v. it sound m,ore full than the strat.

  • you use the same pickups everytime?

  • No I played clean with both guitars' neck pickups, and the I played crunch with both guitars' bridge pickups.

  • gibson

  • Wait, are you sure you didn't use a little more distortion on the Gibson?

  • I'm positive, it's just the Gibson has hot humbuckers. Humbuckers sound dirtier than single coils.

  • Jesus Christ! What a difference! I have a Les Paul, stock humbuckers. I was just looking for a guitar that's has nice action and is good for tapping, because Les Paul is horrible for tapping :-)

  • tapping licks sound like shit tho

  • @Divljina89 I totally believe his settings were the same, I have a Gibson Explorer and a Fender Standard American Stratocaster and I play through a Vox ADVT50-XL and get basically the same type of results that JTstratman13 showed us. For tapping, what you might try are guitars with jumbo frets like a Jackson soloist or something along those lines.

  • Sorry, but i don't get the idea of comparing two totally different things.

It's like comparing a steak to like Sauerkraut or something :D

  • I understand what you mean. They are very different from each other but are both awesome. It's mostly for the viewers that want to know the difference between the 2 guitars.

  • in my view, gibson's best for distortion and that vintage rock tone, while fender's best for clean blues using the bridge pickup

  • Yes I agree.

  • @Decker695 no, fender blues is from the neck pup. Also the Strat sounds like crap cuz the player's amp setting isn't for a strat tone

  • @cheesicles I was demoing the guitars, not the amp, which is why I kept the settings the same.

  • single coil geets dont have anywhere near the gain of a humbucker.

  • Yes. I prefer humbuckers.

Although single coils do get cleaner than humbuckers...

  • Hi, The GIBSON sound better than the other guitar...GIBSON got more round, Hot, and powerful sound...

Make the good choice use the GIBSON guitar mt friend...

    Peace.

    Stephane.

  • Yes Stephane I agree with you. The Gibson has hot pickups, and the Fender has "cold" pickups. The Strat sounds good, but I play classic rock to metal, and the V suits my musical style better.

  • All Right my friend, we are agree...

    Stephane.

  • Oui, je prefere le Gibson. ;)

(Sorry I don't know how to type the accent aigu's)

  • Oui je "Préfère" la GIBSON mon amis...;)

    à Bientot...

    Stephane.
