That looks to me like that was the last truck out of the house and the time on the bottom said 1 minute. Even still...When your sitting in station there is no need to run to the trucks. Im sorry your mom was caught in an elevator, but once you get a few more years in the fire service you will learn that there are other obstacles one must compete with when it comes to extrication out of anything. Your one of those people that need to do 80 mph to get to the firestation also arent you?
I couldn't agree more. On one of my first fires, the fire chief looked at me and said, "The number one rule in this business is 'Don't get excited.'" I live by that because a rushing firefighter is a forgetful one.
yep, people that yell run! run! do not work for large city/county department. They must not get all that much action and when they do they freak out a little too much!
No wonder you guys took half an hour to get to John Hopkins to get someone out of the elevator...the driver WALKED!!!Horrible, Our company the last rig is out in 3 minutes of the inisial dispatch...
I never comment on you tube, and to tell you the truth I think looking at fire stations going out on calls via video is kinda lame. This is my uncles station and when you work for a high run volume department there is no reason to run, drive stupid fast, and get all excited. My department we walk to the rig, drive safe fast, and walk on fire scenes. That comment you made makes me think you work for a low run volume department that does not fight that much fire.
