wow, so he felt it necessary to fill that gap... but you felt it necessary to OVERTAKE all that traffic jump into a spot which ISN'T THERE, cross the line, thus running a red light... all on a hill, where most likely you will not get a great start and you'll just be holding up that entire queue! Well done...
You say you have been cycling for over 14... have you actually learnt anything in that time?
just had another look and it seems to me that you panic too easily. He left you room, he didnt cause you to brake hard and yet you start swearing. Sometimes people make mistakes, perhaps he just did, these things happen. One day it will happen to you...oh yes it did when you got to the front of the traffic. Did the car driver at the front shout at you? No! he just let you get on with it. One day you will pick on the wrong person and your attitude will get you hurt.
he moves in front of you and you swear at him, then you ride to the front (nearly hitting the lead vehicle when you almost lose your balance) but that is ok??????
cyclist are the bain of the motorist, you cause more dangerous situations than any car, truck, bus or lorry could ever cause, and then when people make a simple mistake you kick off like a complete arsehole you appear to be to be in these videos. I hope you're not in real life. The way in which you seem to think you are above every other motorist sickens me. Get off your bike for I fear it will end your life either through getting run over, or by a heart attack due to your very agressive nature.
@parnol Oh yes- that's right - cyclists cause all the endless traffic jams and pollution and noise and high speed accidents and run over pedestrians and drunk driving and lack of parking.
Get real - the reaon driving is such a fucking pain in the arse is all the cars filled with selfish tossers who think their journey is the only important one. Cyclists are just an easy target for arseholes who would rather not face the fact THEY are the problem.
Blimey! What was that reaction for!!? I think you need to look at the way you reacted here, it was waaaay over the top. Might be time for a break from cycling?
You are a very angry person, and also a hypocrite of the highest order. That car did not veer into you, rather you swerved out at the last second and then proceeded through red lights.
Some anger management therapy followed by a good read of the Highway Code would allow you to enjoy life better and longer.
I've looked at all of your encounters with motorists and many of them were forseeable and, therefore, avoidable.
I can recommend a couple of books on cycling by John Franklin called Cyclecraft and How to be a Better Cyclist: Advanced Cycling. Please read them, for I fear you will end your life in a cycling accident and your headstone will read: "But I fucking had right of way!"
@xdr5xdrf I know! It's amazing isn't it! crossing the white line by 18 inches, and I get slagged off for it! Some people! another mote/beam situation as usual.
I'm sorry, but irrespective of the idiot drivers, you crossed the white stop line.
You should have waited behind the leader cars.
I'm a cyclist and I get that behaviour all the time.
Highway Code 175
You MUST stop behind the white ‘Stop’ line across your side of the road unless the light is green. If the amber light appears you may go on only if you have already crossed the stop line or are so close to it that to stop might cause a collision.
Have to admit I don't understand this clip. At worst you might say it's a bit inconsiderate to sit alongside you rather than behind, but then you weren't going to wait there anyway, were you?
In fact, you went right up and jumped the red light! (I'm sure you know that the law is stop behind the white line, not whenever you feel like it).
@TesterAnimal1 - go to 0:22 and you'll see the white line comes past. The red light means, stop BEFORE the line. Just like the speed limit means go UNDER this speed. It's pretty simple.
I do exactly what you do in this video - the difference is I admit that it is jumping the light. The law is super clear on this one.
@WheelyGoodFun - I don't think the driver can be held up as an example of good standards of course. But at the end of the day, they left plenty of room and didn't cut in. To scream about it while ignoring a red light (just to get to the front to go at 5mph again?) is what makes this video a legend.
When I break the rules, I don't try and pretend it's different for me than everyone else.
@EdinburghFixed Yeah, fair enough. The thing to do would have been to filter into the space behind the first car at the lights. But I wouldn't feel happy stopped with the 'attempted overtake' vehicle alongside me, especially if they're going to be turning left at the lights. Plus they're blocking the right filter lane
I don't think the "5 mph" comment is fair though - looks like he's come to the top of a pretty steep hill, and if you take a look at his other videos, he's seriously quick! : )

I wish he smashed your annoying, overly dramatic skull in. He has every right to go there, what's your problem?

Slight over action on your part, though I agree with the sentiment.
Were you having a bad day or something?

Unfounded? The solid line is what the light controlled - you passed that, what is unfounded about that?

@TesterAnimal1 You posted a video of you doing exactly that. Do you suffer from tourettes or are you a victim of "Care in the community"?
mikerjuk 1 year ago 2
@EdinburghFixed Come on mate. It was a completely stupid attempt at an overtake, with zero prospect of completion. Can you not see that?
Not legal to cross the solid white line, of course, but I would not class that as RLJing in the common usage of the word.
