  • I am proud of him, he is right now an icon in my country Venezuela. He studied Music in one of the most important systems of free music teaching at the world,SISTEMA DE ORQUESTAS JUVENILES DE VENEZUELA dedicated to teach every children who love music, Most of them poor kids.He represent the future and the change of my country devasted for bad politics and demagogy !

  • excellent orchestra the music havent languages

  • Tim Mcallister is absolutley incredible.

  • This is by far my favorite conductor and my favorite piece

  • Last Friday Dudamel's guest soloists were on ABC's Nightline dissing American recording artists. The Capucon brothers are French bigots.

Reporter: Which American's do you have on your playlist?

    Capucon: Classical?? Ha, ha, ha

They are with Virgin Classics. Richard Kastle used to be the top selling artist on the label when Richard Brandson owned it. Kastle wrote a blog on his website that explains what happened when Eoropean bigots at EMI bought the label. Their artsts hate Americans.

  • Bravo ese saxofonista!!!! Excelente!!!!!

  • Ese Gustavito siempre carismatico !!

  • @ThaSchwab its really easy see how ignorant you are.... people like you pretend to be smart by criticizing other peoples work, it is really easy say that this is a shitty interpretation just because I (nobody) think that it is to fast or to slow... anyway LA it is really lucky of having Gustavo Dudamel, the best director in the WORLD!!!

Viva Venezuel (punto)

  • i love the LA Phil. they're very contemporary and modern on how they interpret music. they look forward toward the future and they're quite innovative

  • New York should have gotten Dudamel instead of their current Music Director.

  • @tim23z

LA isn't really that lucky. Gustavo is a great conductor, yes, especially at his age, but there are times where you think, "I don't know." Gustavo often takes tempo markings too far; if it's fast, it's too fast. If it's slow, it's too slow. If it's supposed to drag, he drags it too much. I would very much prefer Esa-Pekka if I lived in LA and went to LA Phil concerts frequently.

  • @ThaSchwab Can you do it better ? Why he is famous and you are nobody?

  • @kimosapiens Because I'm 17. I'm sorry, I'm not a professional conductor, but that does NOT mean I can't criticize some of his shitty interpretations.

  • @ThaSchwab Little one you have a lot to learn. Listen twice as long and comment half as much.

  • @arskeeter

I've heard the entire performance. I've heard many by him. He is severely overrated.

  • @ThaSchwab When you bathe don't forget to wash behind the ears, little boy with big criticisms. Nobody cares about your immature opinion. Go do your homework, so you can graduate from high school.

  • @padredemishijos12

It's clear the Gustavo's fans are the most devoted. I never said he was a bad conductor. I said I didn't like his interpretations. Sometimes he does things that the composer most likely didn't wish for (such as in the beginning of the second movement of Mahler's 1st, when he goes extremely slowly and speeds up).

Also, before you call me "immature," I suggest you stop criticizing my opinion and trying to deny me the right to have it.

  • @ThaSchwab Maybe you don't like Latins.

  • @padredemishijos12

Gustavo Dudamel is not the only Latino/Spanish conductor. Other ones who I like with regularly GOOD interpretations include Carlos Miguel Prieto, Raphael Fruhbeck de Burgos, Jesus Lopez-Cobos, etc.

  • @ThaSchwab I can agree with you to an extent. He can be a bit over the top. However, the interpretation of music is a small part of what orchestras look for in a conductor. Repertoire choice and programming is important, but mostly, they need a face that gets people into the concert halls. For this, Dudamel is the best in the world.

  • @tommyk77

This is true, but I doubt that's what everyone is gushing over him for. I don't really care about his programming, as much as I do about his interpretations of the pieces.

  • @ThaSchwab I have the Blessing to Watch Esa-Pekka Salonen for Years, and he was Unreal !!!

He did a Marvelous Job in Los Angeles for almost 20 Years and we're Grateful for his service !!!

And now with Gustavo we have a bright Future!!!

Like Essa say "We are interested in the Future. We are not trying to re-create the glories of the past, like so many other Symphony Orchestras."

  • @tim23z I am soooooo glad that California has Dudamel. I think the LA Phil is the best orchestra in the usa. Better than ny and chicago and almost as good a the simon bolivar youth orchestra of Venezuela.

  • Grande Dudamel!! Viva Venezuela!!!

  • You in LA are sooooo lucky to have gotten Maestro Dudamel. Can he make LAP into the premier orchestra in the US? Or dare I say, can he make it as good as the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra? Will he cherry pick the best musicians from Venezuela for LA? Check out Dudamel doing Mussorgsky at Salzberg on Youtube.

  • Viva VENEZUELA!!!

  • NICE alto player. SWEEEET!

  • Tim McAllister is the FUTURE of classical saxophone. :D
