I believe Peter is one of the best, but comparing a green pc like VeryPC with dumb terminals is idiotic. This is not a great comparison. A verypc is designed to replace a workstation or computer, not a terminal. And terminals requires expensive licences like citrix or MS Terminal services who are expensive!. And not all applications runs on terminal enviroments! Very pc can support linux or XP. Great job but the design is horrible. Good luck!

Peter did have a point, as old school as his solution was. A modern green solution would be a Terminal Server and low power thin clients.
It's a joke really. What is unique about your product. Nothing it's all standard components. By design team he means they threw together the most energy efficient they could find from PC world and call it their own design. It's nothing but arrogant to think its unique.

I wouldn't surprise if he's scarred for life after that. I would be. Yes, he massively overestimated the value of his business, but the dragons tore him apart, knowing he was nervous to start with. Those dragons seem to think very highly of themselves, even though they don't come close to the success of many business people. They are fucking vile.

It's pretty common knowledge that the home computer hardware business is a cutthroat business with very low margins. So if your PC is going to be considerably more expensive than competitors it better have some big advantages. Computers take hardly any energy to power. In that sense, any PC is already very green friendly because they only are powered by electrical power. Plus you're competing against massive home PC manufacturers with colossal marketing budgets & years of R&D... good luck!!

This guy is a fucking moron. He wants £250,000 for 5% of his business... a business which most recently generated an annual net profit of £24,000. At that rate, it would take the Dragon's about 200 years just to make their initial £250k back. And even if, by some miracle of God, the business made a net profit of £1million every year, it'd still take 5 years just to make their money back. Like I said, the guy is a FUCKING MORON.

@semo2010 You don't think so? He's got no unique selling point. I've built a small form factor PC like his from off the shelf parts, that consumed 35 watts on average, and I spend about $250. I've done what he values at five million pounds on my kitchen table! I know for a fact that, not only is there no selling point, there's really no money in it. Big manufacturers make their dollars on volume, which "Very PC" was never going to achieve.
