Greco-Buddhism, sometimes spelt Graeco-Buddhism, refers to the cultural syncretism between Hellenistic culture and Buddhism, which developed between the 4th century BCE and the 5th century CE
Great Job John! Someday your grand-daughter will look back and realize what you were trying to teach her and she will get it. All kids should learn that "there are things within our control, beyond our control" and learn the wisdom behind the difference.
Are not words the means by which man initigrates knowledge? That given should one ask one to claim knowledge they do not have or choose contradictory knowledge that is given to them? From a childlike perspective and the majority of the world may mock and disagree however, I think the forming of the bible is a bad idea? why? For they handed me the book and in the beginning I cared for God and thought God was soooo cooolish then I got boored and wondered how the book ended... enter scary book.
many a time, learning begins when a person encounter difficulties in life. For the little girl of 7, life is still too good to be bothered with such learning. But those words that you gave her might suddenly appear in her mind when she faces difficulties in her latter life.
Wouldn't you have to say that a person who has been trained is more likely to understand that particular something they were trained for?
Plus, you could react to something you do not understand, or react in a way that you know is silly, even though you understand you are being silly. Like people with phobias. And phobias are not always independent of age and training.
She is learning when she hears it. It impacts her on some level.
Phobias are the result of an experience wrongly/poorly understood, generating a mind respond of escape behaviour towards the perception. If the person understand correctly, the phobic behaviour would disappear.
A person with rich background knowledge could understand correctly despite being under poor training.
Hence we could say that phobias are independent of age and training.

She reacts the way she does, not as a product of her age, but of her training?

Perhaps we can say that learning takes place when she hears the words.
Understanding takes place when she experiences it. Reaction is a product of understanding, independent of both age and training.
