  • HOLY F*CK.......this is so.......wait words dont do it justice.(staring in silent bliss)

  • its called marbling

its not water its a gel-ish mixture and you use liquid acrylic paints.

  • Holy crap! Where is this? This is so awesome! I would totally buy one of those prints.

  • Girls have been doing this to marble their nails FOREVER. It's not new.

  • @jamieoutrich Doesn't make it not beautiful. I'm betting he didn't invent painting like this either.

  • 2:26 :D

  • Moar dots!!!!

  • Wha... WHAT IS THIS BEAUTIFUL MADNESS?!?!?

I SO want to do that! Anyone know what the heck he used to do all of this?

  • @actingdreams1993 Yep, this is nothing new. You know those pretty patterned colourful end papers at the start and finish of fancy books? This is how they are done also. I did this in a bookbinding apprenticeship. It is indeed a very old art. The notable fact here is that the "bath" is not simply water, as water alone will not suspend the paint or ink. It is a mix that forms a gelatinous viscosity. The ingredient we used was carageenan moss. It comes dry and you have to soak it then strain it.

  • Is this the future?

  • @coppatop No, very much past! It is an old art. Used for creating marbled papers for bookbinding.

  • Good job, dude.

  • the outcome of the painting is truly unpredictable!!!!

    MINDBLOWN.

  • what did he put in the water at the beginning to strengthen the surface tension?

  • @ekbergiw I've done it with carageenen moss. Soaked and strained.

  • Thank you StumbleUpon!

  • am i the only one who was annoyed with camera zooming? just stay still gahd!

  • WHAT KIND OF FUCKIN WIZARDRY IS THIS??!!!

  • This is way cool....love it!

  • This is way cool....love it!

  • Well this is just a basic example of "Ebru". There are more sophisticated and better artworks which of course won't take 8 mins to finish.

Either way, the simplicity of the process and the simple beauty of the result is stunning.

  • My daughter does this with fingernail polish.

  • I'm not to impressed with the artwork itself, but the medium used is very intriguing.

  • I'm gettin a huge Battlestar Galactica vibe right here.

  • It's actually just a giant iPad 2. You've all been trolled so hard.

  • @DoctorBeardface Nope, it's for real, I've done it.

  • you can use acrylic paints

  • ah ???

  • Did you watch this all the way through? He saves it on a canvas at the end.

  • Ok that was a kick ass cool way to make art!

  • Now, that's art.

  • And you save it how? O' it's a sand castle type thing. Taking so much time and there you have it gone. Like a ride on a carisel you get off and your are in the same place. But you had a great ride.

  • @ColletteGurthet Did you even watch the end?

    He puts it on paper...

  • what kind of paint are you using?

  • This is just awesome.

  • gotta love the freestyle fluting in the background.... epic

  • Awesome to watch that is for sure lol

  • Que vaina lindaaaa

  • I've seen my aunt use the exact same technique with her fingernail polish & transfer it to her nails. It's cool to see it done with paper. I learned something else to try.
