@megabulk3000 Yeah, after he was done with his unauthorized window cleaning, Bluto was going to go to the owner of the building and charge him for it.
Ive know of some crooked window cleaners who do that kind of thing Like one of them went to a PetCo, just started doing the windows, and then at the end went in to the manager and gave him an invoice. The manager objected saying that he hadnt ordered it, but the windowcleaner told him it was a monthly, authorized by the owner. Manager paid.
Much of that "beauty" goes to the fact that the Fleischer studio was then based in the heart of NYC. Most of the backgrounds were paintings of the actual streets of the lower east side and the the meat packing district. The gritty feel was in deliberate stark contrast to the bright colors and fantasy of Disney, which helped endure Popeye to the many customers suffering thru the great Depression.
The high perspective shots like the one at 1:53, 2:30, and especially around 3:12, are all fantastic. This cartoon has AMAZING perspective shots, and as always, the city looks beautiful in black and white. The Fleischers were amazing and these cartoons can be considered some of the best from the golden age of animation. I never get over how volumetric the characters feel -- a true pleasure to watch.
I like how in every episode Bluto and Popeye have a competition to see who's better at something. Then when Popeye wins, Bluto gets mad and punches him. LOL at testosterone! My favorite part in this episode is when Bluto says, "Watch this." Then opens the window and punches Popeye. So funny.
BEFORE DBZ THERE WAS POPEYE DAMNIT! lol.

Look at Olive Oil's arms flail in the air as Bluto's choking her. That is some classic shit right there.

Those were the best. They didn't try to make them for kids when it was just Bluto and Popeye.
