I have a hard time deciding between a Cayman S or a mid 2000 model 911 or 996 car. I like the looks of both, but sometimes feel the windows of the 911 is "too big" especially with the size of the wheels (on profile view). This car is less expensive and has amazing reviews, relatively low ownership costs, and is very nice and sleek (better than Nissan 350Z and Audi TT)
Apparently the best chassis Porsche has made. If it had a 911 engine it would piss all over a 911. My mate has the same car, colour and trim as this. It sits at 150MPH without any drama, screaming or rattles. (not that we'd know as the speed limit is 70 :D) It is planted, smooth and comfortable. I'm fucking jealous.
Disagree with the two people who have made comments here. Cayman S is a track car cause it's well balanced and handles like no other. Straight line acceleration is where this car falls short against other sports car. As for the auto vs manual. When your in bumper to bumper traffic up hill, good luck with your manual. With a comment like yours I don't think you have the maturity to afford this car, I don't think McDonald's pays that well. Great car.
Maybe when I get as old as you, I too will like a driving an automatic, when I'm not using my walker...Until then I'll stick with my Daytona Viper, manual and all....
Mc Donalds? Ohhh, burn.......I'll bet back in your day a long,long,long time ago, that was a good one....
@defears3 did you just say its a track car and a sports car? and then you added 'When your in bumper to bumper traffic up hill, good luck with your manual'.... WHY the fuck you you be going uphill bumper to bumper in a track/sports car? are you suggesting i buy this car for some uphill peak-hour city driving where the top speed is 5kmh? oh and since when do you need maturity to buy a car? havnt you heard of rappers?
@genesis667 I just traded in my 2006 c6 Vet for a 06 Cayman S.
I loved my Vet on and off the track but my wife thinks that Vets are Red Neck, so I put down my shotgun and told her what i thought. I am looking forward to getting the Cayman on the track at either Laguna Seca or Thunder Hill. I'll let you know how it does.
I want this car some day

Auto is for people who don't care about the experience of controlling the car. Auto is for pussies.
