  • What kind of burdhrU?

  • Looks like another delightful, yet redundant WA film. I love him anyway.

  • why is it all yellow?

  • @losangelesswimmin Because it's a Wes Anderson movie.

  • @BuriedTreasure255 that's like answering why the sky is blue: because it's blue.

  • It would be interesting to see Anderson do a movie with a leading non-white cast.

  • Looks fantastic.

Just curious - why is there an Apple logo at bottom right?

  • @rojash because the trailers site in the itunes section of the Apple site (can't post link)- is where the majority of film trailers are hosted.

  • what is this i dont even its amazing

  • Wes Anderson is God!

  • the song is francoise hardy - le temps de l'amour

  • QUIRKINESS :D

  • For all of you who aren't "hipster enough to get this," allow me to clarify:

"Set in the 1960s, a pair of young lovers flee their New England island town, prompting a local search party led by the Sheriff and the girl's parents to fan out to find them."

  • When Tilda Swinton enters the room at 01:30-01:34 she somewhat reminds me of Katherine Hepburn.

  • YES!!!!!!!!

  • Did anyone else just laugh their ass off when Ed Norton said "Jiminy Cricket, he flew the coop"!

  • To the d-bags who don't like Wes' movies: That's cool, we don't need you sitting next to us in the theater anyways

  • I cannot wait for this. Seriously, I can't wait. JUST RELEASE IT PLEASE

  • I have a REALLY strong feeling that this is going to turn out to be my favourite film of all time.

  • Thumbs up if you want Owen and Wes to write another movie together.

  • Douchey hipster shit

  • @spacejesusadventure How the fuck is this movie "hipster shit" to you?

  • @spacejesusadventure What you're saying is,"I'm too stupid to understand this, so anyone who does is just trying to look cool."

Also that's a pretty ironic statement coming from someone whose name is spacejesusadventure.

  • @smokyp3nguin To begin with my name is a pisstake, Smokeyp3nguin.

I'm too stupid too understand a movie written by an Autistic outcast about two children who run away? How pretentious of you.

  • @spacejesusadventure Oh really? I thought spacejesus was a serious name.

You looked at two minutes of a movie from a widely acclaimed director, filled with acclaimed and brilliant actors, and called it "douchey hipster shit".

Then you called the director, who has never made a movie that wasn't critically acclaimed, an autistic outcast. And I'M the pretentious one?

Try to look at new art with an open mind.

Maybe then you won't say such ridiculous things.

    *too stupid to

  • @spacejesusadventure well done. well done, what a fantastic contribution to the page you are. fucking bravo.

  • Shawshank Redemption homage at 0:44?

  • Lol It looks so cute.

  • 1:32 - Tilda Swinton as Miss Jean Brodie?

  • im getting a Pride and prejudice vibe from the song at the end of this trailer o.0

  • I'm going to go find a tree to chop down.

  • looks cute :3

  • Yes!!

  • 1:23 Dad's Army

  • @rupturedtesticle May 27th Im quite sure.

  • What a cast!

  • WHEN IS "SOON"?!!!!!!

  • In case you're wondering - the lyrics to the first song Cuckoo! comes from an Old English rhyme:

Cuckoo, cuckoo, what do you do?

    In April I open my bill;

    In May I sing night and day;

    In June I change my tune;

    In July far far I fly;

    In August away... I must.

  • Crying

  • this is the most wes anderson-looking wes anderson film ever. maps, tents, scouts, french music, bill murray, lighthouses...

  • Bill Fucking Murray!

  • I've been a Wes Anderson fan for years now and will admit he's had his ups and downs.....

But for all you too cool for Wes kats out there your probably right......

    WES ANDERSON FILMS ARE OVER!

  • @GravyShaft

Fantastic Mr Fox was his best yet, what are you talking about? This looks fantastic.

  • Bill Murray remains awesome

  • Cannot wait. Cannot freaking wait.

  • edward norton!

  • Wes Anderson

Making the same damn movie over and over again

  • @TheGameInformer

Mmm, I could agree about the idea of Wes Anderson having the same stile over and over again, you can recognize his hand in just one second of movie.

I must also reckon that in his works he uses the same themes, giving more emphasis to one than another from film to film.

But I don't know why, I really like him, as director. I think he's brilliant.

  • @TheGameInformer Gosh, I hope so! Cuz we're lovin' every frame of every one of them.

  • The film looks like it takes a good deal of inspiration from Pierrot Le Fou by Jean Luc Godard. (I would say that Wes Anderson draws a lot stylistically from French New Wave in general,) but for those who've seen Pierrot Le Fou will certainly know what I mean. And I mean this in the best way possible. Because Godard's film is a masterpiece and Anderson certainly has his shit on lock

  • @californidan film snob.

  • @BrettOhh18 =]

  • @californidan That's a great movie. I'm sure this movie will be the best I've seen in awhile. Also, you have no idea what you're talking about.

  • @INTRNLREVNUSRVICE that's funny cause I DO know what I'm talking about. It's simple observational skills. If you've seen godards movie, and just the few scenes in this trailer, it's not hard to see it. I'm sure as this movie comes out, people are definitely gonna mention le fou in their articles.

  • @californidan Nah..

  • So this is what Edward Norton was reduced to after asked more money in Avengers.

  • what is the name of the french song in the middle?

  • @eorldian "Le Temps De L'Amour"- April March

  • The hauntingly beautiful choral song at the start is Benjamin Britten's "Cuckoo!".

  • @yauchiam Thanks so much!

  • @yauchiam And the french song? I love wes anderson!

  • @rocktravolta Le Temps De L'Amour by Francois Hardy on This Is Francois Hardy

  • I auditioned for this

  • @dancingqueen21699

    I didn't.

  • @dancingqueen21699 Well you didn't make it because you weren't good enough, and you never will be.

  • this looks great

  • Everyone please stop fighting as if this was a Republican debate...a film should be appreciated for all of the hard work that is put into it. It is an artistry, not politics. Yes we are entitled to opinions but assigning labels solves nothing. Making a film is not easy. So spread the love.

  • did wes anderson breakup with futura ?

  • Awesome!

  • Fuck yeah Edward Norton!

  • can't wait!!!!

  • This is going to be really good! Love the cast!! WES ANDERSON 4 LYFE -3

  • Im kinda dissapointed. My friend was an extra in this movie and i was hoping to see him in the trailer :(

  • there is yellow in every scene :)

  • cant. fucking. wait.

  • Great cast, but why??

  • yeees

  • i don't want to like it, but somehow...

  • Is this based on a true story?

  • Either this was a bad trailer or this movie really sucks.

  • I loved, love and will love wes anderson's movies

  • WTF ?

  • Looks like Max Fischer when he was 8.

  • this is a hipster's dream come true. not for me.

  • @Lunarcheese72 lol you're pretty close minded

  • @Drshavargo777 that's rather Presumptuous. it just looks like it's directly catering to a crowd who deliberately goes out of their way to enjoy oddities. not for me.

  • @Lunarcheese72 you failed to see the irony there. labeling a movie you haven't seen as "a hipster's dream" isn't presumptuous? i've always loved wes anderson's movies because of his outstanding story-telling with fantastical characters who seem to lead surreal lives but suffer from very basic human flaws.

and if you're going to base your opinion simply on stigmas, at least identify them properly...wes anderson's films would be considered too mainstream for hipsters.

  • @RottenAppleSeeds this doesn't cater to a mainstream audience.

  • @Lunarcheese72 lol, releasing a movie nation-wide is the definition of "mainstream". just because it isn't directed by michael bay or isn't some shoddy rehash or remake doesn't qualify it as a "hipster movie". at least do your homework before you go around assigning stigmas.

  • @RottenAppleSeeds you are a simpleton. This has no mainstream appeal, it has 600k views in a time when most "popular" trailers will easily hit a million in a week. this is for a specific audience who is interested in the bizarre and unconventional. Sure, there are people with eclectic movie taste like yourself, but they are few.

  • @Lunarcheese72 arguing on the internet is mainstream.

  • @Lunarcheese72 lol, for someone who hates hipsters, you sure love being ironic. more contradictions - i'm a "simpleton" but you refuse to watch anything that might require a small amount of intellectual capacity to understand.

you're still missing the point, goober. it doesn't matter how much views this trailer gets. the fact alone that it's being released in theaters is already too mainstream for hipsters. failed stigma fails.

  • @RottenAppleSeeds strawman

  • @Lunarcheese72 cool stories bro

  • @RottenAppleSeeds yeah i figured you wouldn't know what that meant. a simple little baby sized brain.

  • @Lunarcheese72 derp, some more irony. a desperate attempt to end an argument by deflecting and parroting a phrase someone obviously used on you. the funny part is you were oblivious to the etymology of "cool story"...see that there, goober? i just pointed out another one of your sad ironies, you closet hipster.

hey, when you're done wracking your feeble mind after watching "the fast five in 3D!!!", make sure to mop up all the sweat off your keyboard before you reply.

  • @RottenAppleSeeds except fantastic mr. fox something something something.

  • @ant1ph0n an adaptation of a book isn't the same thing as a remake of another movie...but then again, tomatoes are potatoes.

  • @JellyBellyDeli What do you mean "you people?"

  • The cast and art direction are incredible

  • ryan conolly was right, this does look like a wes anderson film

    FilmSTATE FTW!!

  • crying tears of supreme happiness

  • Wes Anderson films never fails to make me smile with his brand of storytelling. Great to see many stars converted to adapt to his direction, and now it's Bruce Willis' and Edward Norton's turn. And of course, what would his film be without Bill Murray and/or Jason Schwartzmann.

My dream casting of his film would be Brad Pitt and Natalie Portman (she did act in her short "Hotel Chevalier", which was brilliant!)

  • Wes Anderson films are never "ha-ha" funny. If I did watch this film it would only be to see a ghostbuster and the incredible hulk in the same movie.

  • If it wasn't for the cast, I would be done with Wes Anderson's extreme pretentiousness and geekiness. I hate it when directors get so full of themselves that every single film looks like the one before it.

  • @aestheticstorm haha even looks like Fantastic Mr. Fox which was animated.

  • @aestheticstorm It is kind of surprising he still gets good casts. WA has been treading water for over a decade now.

  • suzie... i'd hit it

  • @TheJimHu fuckin' a.

  • @TheJimHu me too

  • umm

  • How in the name of Jeff Bridge's beard did you people manage to bring race into the comments?

  • PURE Wes Anderson. The shots, the color composition, the framing.

  • such a boring trailer

  • @cabwap

Even the blind and deaf disagree with you.

  • @cabwap someone like you would think such a thing ;)

  • How is it possible for people to argue and call each other cunts over a Wes Andersen trailer?

  • @ScumWrangler

Because wes anderson's a fukin rocknrolla

  • The French song at 0.48 is "Le Temps De L'Amour" by Francoise Hardy. Thumbs up so everyone can see :)

  • Opening music is cuckoo by benjamin Britten from Friday afternoons

  • whats the very first song?

  • Thaaaanks Bubbles :D

  • This movie is going to be surreal. Its like an early Dali painting wrapped into a parable of warring nations. I cannot wait.

  • Song : Françoise Hardy - 60's

  • hipster

  • @JessRuby your a fucking idiot. anything with a vague amount of culture in it is now labled hipster.

  • @JessRuby stupid piece of shit.

  • TOTALLY gives me a fantastic mr. fox vibe (yes, I know why. You don't need to tell me).

  • Finally!! Wes is back!! FINALLY!

  • I see that both kids are starting their careers out strong ! YOU GO KIDS!

  • does anyone know the french song playing in the background during 49- 1:20 sec ??? merci beaucoup :)

  • I hope this gets Bruce Willis an Oscar nod.

  • my friend is in the background leaning on the car!

  • This movie has the look and feel of The Royal Tenanbaums and lo and behold I find out that it was directed by Wes Anderson.

  • This just might replace The Royal Tenenbaums as my new favorite Wes Anderson film.

  • lolwut

  • Parts of this were filmed at boy scout camp Yawgoog, I went there back in the day alot and recognize most of the places.

Lake yawgoog, 1:15 on the route to the dinosaur cave where me and my patrol stopped to chill, 1:16 is on the road to camp Don Dewing in Three point, my campsite and the best fishing spot in yawgoog, 1:40 is the stockade where arts and craft merit badges are, located in medicine bow, and 1:41 is that beautiful yawgoog sunset I miss, ah the nostalgia.

  • anyone that slams this movie should be slammed in the nuts by a fast ball

  • Well it certainly LOOKS like a Wes Anderson film.

  • What's that music near the end, is that Bach?

  • @flyboy712 Purcell. Opus 34, Theme A: Allegro maestoso e largamente

  • @flyboy712 It's part of Benjamin Britten's Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra (based on a theme by Purcell). Britten's Opus 34, not Purcell's.

  • @Dulciethecat Thank you Dulcie!

  • Lol my neighbor is in this, hes at 1:39 first one behind the guy who is taller. He has a brownish coat.

  • I've never heard of this Wes Anderson fellow....who is he? filmswag.com\moonrise-kingdom/

  • Bill Murray in 3D!!!!!!

  • Moonrise Kingdom will be for sure one of the best movies that we will watch in next few months! Better go now to this video and follow it /watch?v=sZGK9hyhVp0 You will be amazed ;-)

  • Edward Norton. 'Nuff said.

  • Hollywood sucks! This script was probably wrote in crayon by a 4 year old!

  • @RebelLaw07 Anyone who uses incorrect grammar (ESPECIALLY in a comment meant to slam another's writing) really needs to attend an extra English class.

  • @RebelLaw07 whats funny is that this film is totally not hollywood and more than likely had european distribution because wes anderson films cant get full hollywood funding because hollywood does indeed suck, so your half right. now, on your attempt to slam the film, what movies do you like if you don't enjoy this or hollywood films? because as i said, this is pretty far off hollywood.

  • Comes out this May, most excellent

  • This made me so happy I tingled inside.

  • my first taugh wheni saw this trailer was,"some newbi director wants to be the new wes anderson"

  • looks like fun

  • Anyone know the name of the french song that starts playing around 0:45?

  • i have to see this because reasons

  • 0:42 reference to shawshank redemption.

  • @OldmanMaestro another moron who doesn't recognize art and labels it hipster because its "cool" to do so ;)

  • @TheJGoolsby fine, then I'll just label you a "Cunt".

  • @OldmanMaestro im a cunt? thats funny because even then i still succeed you on every level...funny how life favors people like me and shits on people like you ;)

  • This looks like Rushmore meets Badlands, in such an awesome way.

  • 63 have never seen a good movie
