That's the stock siren that comes with the Ambulance/hearse. The Ecto-1's siren was a sound effect that was added in post-production.

The federal signal company who makes the sirens did in fact a few years ago come out with the Ecto 1A siren

You should consider throwing a recording of the real Ecto-1 siren on an iPod and hooking it up to the PA Mic jack on that siren (assuming it has one).
