Kibera has been a ridicule to our pride as Kenyans, with numerous NGO's and NPO's using it to beg for cash which they use on themselves. Wacha watu wahamishwe na ibomolewe. We can reclaim the river corridor to attain a greenway, something that lacks in Nairobi. But somebody pave and or landscape the grounds of the new Kibera. Its the high time we started kicking dust na matope out of our lives!!!!
Ni Culture Shock...wanaopinga wamezoea vyumba hohehahe na mshtuko wa vyumba hivi ulikuwa ni mwingi, hawangeuhistamili. Kwanza Habitat ingemtuma daktari Peter Njenga azungumzie juu ya makazi haya mapya, stima, sakafu za mawe, vyoo ndani ya nyumba,ulipaji wa elfu moja kama kodi,orofa na matofali mekundu. Mazoea huchukuwa muda kuyabadilisha!
If they don't appreciate the governments initiative for better housing, then let the government find other suitable 'tenants' from other slums such as Mathare. If Kibera residents are happy living in shanties then the government should either give the housing benefits to people who need it or sell the properties and feed the hungry in the Northern corridors!
