Well I'd say that since it works, and is still in the GB range, that it's worthy of keeping. Of course, many places don't take donations of electronics.
I'd personally like to see the equipment you're using for these tests. Not sure if they're on one of your other videos, haven't seen all of them yet.
I have a 1gb version of one of those that's a secondary hdd in my pentium computer. I should use it as a master, instead of that Maxtor :P
