  • super cute!

  • I don't get it when they say 20,000 Genes so do they mean it in the whole body or just one cell ?

  • @5811396 Every cell in your body has nucleus with 23 pairs of chromosomes therefore every cell n your body has 20000 genes.

  • lol "when they say you have your fathers hair, they actually mean 'you appear to have inherited a gene or genes from your father that instructs your hair follicle cells to produce hair that curls like your father's"

  • Shows how nice video works in explaining complex matter.

  • haha 4 years in science class of a teacher trying to explain what a gene is and not understanding a word they say, only to give up the subject. but now i understand. man i go to a crappy school.

  • Awesome vid :)

  • thanks this is good stuff it going to help me on my final it put it in "english" for me

  • its funny how he says cow "CAAW"

  • What are SNPS?

  • Although the animations would attract little people, this is SO well done (and cute to boot!)

  • i think everyone loved the video its just amazing...

  • This video is great!, entertaining and just saved me tons of time :D!

and by the way, anyone notice the 6th leg on 1:00 was hairy?

  • I loved this video. Nice anamation. Nice narrating. Makes Biology easy! Takes me hours to just study what this video talked about. This only took 4:25! That simple!

  • im subscribing

  • wow, parts 1-3 explained in 10 minutes what I had to read for 2 hours in the textbook.

  • thanx for this vid it helped me on my homework! :)

  • Wow, this will definitely help me with my Biology class. I thought I hated science...

  • science is fun, school science is boring...

  • Definitely not the funnest or most entertaining, but it was homework and I learned something, so thanks.

  • that was entertaining. ;)

  • THANKS A LOT <33333

  • how can i copy this??>.i wanna paste it in my movie maker, so i can use this as a report b8 genetics..well,, this make sense, surely!

  • lol at 2:03

  • Great! Will take this to my bio class tomorrow! Now we're SURE to get it!

  • awesome thank u! i needed a review cuz i dont understand the genetics unit in bio 1105! its sad hhaa

  • this video has been most helpful for my bio project. thanks!

  • great educational video. It was not boring because of the images.

  • tht was an awesome vid lol

it helped a lot... i dnt usually understand genetics =) thnx!!!

  • favorited!

  • omg i love this haha thanks for uploading :D

  • Great video, very informative.

  • Very instructive and clear, thanks.

  • this is awesome! well done it makes science much more interesting :D

  • absolutely fabululously informative and entertaining. Peace, Doc

  • Wonderful video!

studying in UNI and it helps put things into order!

  • Love it!

  • great video. I love the information and I especially like the the sound track.

  • omg!!1

im in year ten and have a genetics test 2moz

and i tend to daydream in class - cause my teacher has a boring mono tone -that makes me sleepy

so i onlii eva pick up on a few words she says ---------------and i didnt understand anithing

and now im like - i atleast gotta paste -if i know the basics from these video's

    ur a legend =D

  • nice

  • Now im ready to take my genetics final next month!!!

  • im 27 and feel like a little boy watching this X0

  • I want to be a geneticist of some sort. But I find the whole advanced area of DNA quite daunting. Are there any genetics jobs that don't directly and closely deal with such things... like biochemistry?

  • you are awesome! thank you!

  • Guess what?? Goldfish have like 93 pairs of chromosomes!! NICE VIDeO

  • There are 22 pairs of chromosomes that normal people have. if you are a female then you have 22 pairs but two "X"'s; making 23 pairs. A male has 22 pairs with one X and one Y chromosome. Making most "normal" peoples total number of chromosomes 46. Also hair "curliness" is controlled by the shape of the hair the straighter it is the more round it is.

  • Nice 101 level video! A great primer for budding genealogists or just those interested in what makes us - us.

  • Thanks for the vid series, this helped me with my uni lvl genetics lol, the logical order really helped

  • boreing

  • The reason its "boring" is probably similar to the reason you cant spell.

  • why did u watch it

  • luckily idiots like you don't study genetics

  • You mean boring.

  • wow

  • 2:20 = freaking epic

  • Thanks for a great series of videos :) am using this one and part 4 with two of my classes. Extremely clear information in what is a difficult area for most students! 5/5

  • nice, thanks

  • wow...this video rlly helped me!! thanks! =]

  • grate video

  • yes, thanks

  • it was good information but i sorta fell asleep dood

  • HAHAHAH when someones says u have ur fathers hair, what they mean is 'you appear to have inherited a gene or genes from your father that makes a protein that instructs your hair follicle cells to produce hair that curls like your father's. I know thats wot i mean when i say that :P. But the video is great keep up the good work

  • Thank you for making this animation!!!!

  • great, thanks!

  • Hi great videos thankyou. You say "most genes are recipies for making specific proteins" may I ask what the others do and where can I fine out about them?

    Thanks

  • GOOD

  • perfect!thanks

  • Amazing video..this is informative and the information in the video is more than perfect. Usually people say chimps and human have 99% of similar DNA but that is the old version and your video has the new and updated facts! This is so great I love watching them!

  • I absolutely adore it! Thanks for helping me out for my genetics test on monday..

  • This was very interesting, he made it so simple for me to understand *grins sheepishly*

  • I feel resentful that after years of bland texts books in school I can understand a concept far better via a cartoon. This is a very powerful learning medium, thank you for sharing.

  • Scientists have a nasty habbit of taking things that are easily understood, and making it out to be only for super-geniuses.

  • Great little video and also informative :)
